With the Kings going to two game sevens, having a couple of days off, as a fan, feels like forever.

I'm not writing off the East but of the 4 teams left standing, I'd say the West is a step above in depth/skill...Kinda too bad this is not the Cup Finals.

 

Too bad the Bruins failed.

At least the teams out of the West playing the Bruins would have been a competitive finals.

In the playoffs anything can happen. You know that first hand seeing as the Kings who were dismissed out of hand won.

The Prior 5 years Bell Center was an auto loss for the Rangers & Montreal was 80% loss. They were embarrassed the last two games.

Of course. Stranger things have happened...but, on paper and match-up-wise, I don't think the winner of the Habs/Rangers series can win 4 times out of 7 against the winner of the Kings/Hawks.

But, lots of variables...injuries, hot goalie, bad bounces/calls...



If you want to play conspiracy theorist, the NHL would likely favor a winner from the East anyhow.

Kings have a better record this year against the Habs & Rags than the Blackhawks.

Hawks fans would rather play Rags or Habs versus playing the Kings.

Same goes for Kings fans...Rags and Habs easier route than the Blackhawks.

Fact: regular season has as much to do with post season as sunspot activity.

The depth and resilience of the Hawks & Kings, is exactly why they are meeting again in the Conference Finals.

Both teams have been to the top of the mountain recently, and still have the core of players who got them there playing today.

Habs and Rags....not so much.
