XO: Forza Motorsport 5
There wasn't a thread so I thought I'd make it!
They're releasing tons of info on Facebook and it's shaping up to be very cool.
First things first, the trailers...
Some images they've released...
Just today they released the above image...yes...there will be Indy and Grand Prix cars.
Please, keep discussions on topic of the game, not the console.

Not sure...but whatever screen you're on, it's definitely not 4K (at least I wouldn't think), so you're viewing it in whatever resolution YouTube is displaying it at.
I have the option to turn YouTube to 1080p, but my computer screen doesn't go that high, only 1024x7--.

Im a Forza guy...so I can't wait to see what else they release for it. It looks great...
Unfortunately, I am somewhat unimpressed with what they have released so far. I need to see something more than just better graphics or I will probably be a GT guy sometime soon.

Yeah I hope having a more powerful console means having larger games. 500 cars wasn't enough in FM4.
They released the Grand Prix and Indy cars, so that seems promising, I'm anxious to see the rest of the lineup.

The graphics look amazing either way. It will be interesting to check out at some point in the future. I personally won't be buying a Xbox one at the beginning so I will have to wait for a little while to check out the game.

"All Three Top Gear Hosts to Feature in FM5"
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/...a-motorsport-5
Turn 10 design lead Bill Giese has confirmed all three hosts of the BBC’s extraordinarily popular Top Gear will feature in Xbox One launch title Forza Motorsport 5, but stopped short of explaining their exact roles.
“I can tell you all three hosts are involved, they're going to give us some awesome structure in how we present our career to players,” Giese said to Joystiq during a demonstration of Forza Motorsport 5.
“We'll be announcing a little bit more about that this summer, but we're super excited to have all three hosts this time.”
Jeremy Clarkson featured in Forza 4’s Autovista mode where players could hear his humorous and often candid descriptions of the 26 included cars. In Forza Motorsport 5 Autovista has become Forzavista and will extend to all of the games “hundreds” of cars.
Top Gear holds the record for the world's most widely-watched factual TV show and has been broadcast in 212 territories.

Forza 5 will be so good that it should be forgiven if it doesn't feature "every feature under the sun", Turn 10 creative director Dan Greenawalt has said.
Quizzed by ifcaracing about the lack of features such as simulated pit stops, tire wear, fuel consumption and more, Greenawalt said: "We feel that the true source of Forza entertainment comes from its overall execution and the emotional connection derived from its unparalleled immersive content.
"I feel that any details that are allegedly missing are far outweighed by our cutting edge graphics and physics. But it's not just these critical aspects; it's also (in the case of FM5) the new power of the Cloud that places us on an entirely new plateau beyond anything anyone has out there. So, I think we can be forgiven if we don't have every feature under the sun."
Greenawalt also made what appears to be a reference to Polyphony Digital's extended development periods for its Gran Turismo games, stating: "We'd like to have every good idea there is, but we have to draw lines too, otherwise we might take 5 years to produce the next version."
And in further defence of Forza and his team at Turn 10, Greenawalt added: "Seriously, we could make a hardcore race sim, but that's not what got us here. We can't take the path that others with less success take; we have to forge our own path.
"And as much as we try to be everything to everyone whether they are a car guy or not, we can only go so deep with any single feature if you know what I mean."
Forza 5 will be released alongside the Xbox One in November.

And...
We have some new details on Forza Motorsport 5. The game is scheduled to launch later this year and is a launch title for the Xbox One.
People expecting weather and night racing are in for a disappointment as Turn 10′s Dan Greenawalt has confirmed on a Twitch TV Stream that the game won’t support those features. It’s something fans really wanted from the game considering it’s something that they’ve been asking since Forza Motorsport 3.
The good news is that the game runs at 1080p and 60fps. The game’s visuals can be seen in this in-game trailer.
Paints and tunes are still like the ones in the previous games. They can be created, traded and used but the now the payment depends on the usage and not the initial selling price.
The Auction House is gone due to the above point where they made paints and tunes free to buy. Cloud based suggestions are possible where the game learns what types of paints you like and will suggest you the same. At the Forza 5 E3 demonstration the Drivatar AI was said to evolve based on your driving abilities.
One more good news is that all the cars support Autovista mode which means you can check them out in detail. However, the car roster is still unconfirmed and may be less than Forza 4 due to mandatory Autovista.

I made millions in the Auction House, especially after a new car pack was released. I sold over 100 Porsches the week the pack was released. I'm not thrilled that it's gone

Now here are the details and things I have learned about Forza 5 so far:
1. Vinyl/Layers cannot be imported into Forza 5 (new engine/system
2. Every car in the game will be available for Autovista Mode (now Forza Vista)
3. All paint changes, wheel modifications, etc.. will be present when looking at your car in Forza Vista Mode
4. New reworked AI that learns how you drive and finds/improves opponents for races
5. A cinematic movie score is present in the game.
6. No weather or night racing in Forza 5 (thanks to MotorWorldHype.com)
7. Paint is now layered. Clear coat and items are separate in the engine allowing very authentic look to cars.
8. Single player can be played not online
9. No dirt/rally racing like in Forza Horizon. With new engine in Xbox One different tarmacs will feel different. I drove a street course in Prague with terrain changes you could feel like transferring to a bridge.
10. Thrustmaster wheel to replace Fanatec as official wheel (rumor posted by Motorworldhype.com)
11. During daytime gameplay the dashboard has reflections on the windshield within the in cockpit race mode
12. This game will run at 1080p resolution at 60 frames a second.
13. Regular DLC packs are staying in Forza 5
14. Right trigger provides force feedback under shifting adding a feel to the car. Under braking the left trigger vibrates progressively more
15. No current agreement with Porsche

All cars as well as the mods you apply appearing in Vista seems pretty cool.
Sucks that there is no weather or time changes, lack of Auction House sucks but I can bet it's due to a lot of people abusing it and cheating.
STUPID DLC
And the new paint seems really nice.
White wheels

I'm not heartbroken that it's gone but I like having 20+ million credits in the bank at all times I'm more concerned about Porsche not being included again.

I just want to see more screens/videos. 'Tis weird, but I recon I'd rather see like a 95 Accord all opened up in ForzaVista than a Lambo. We know those cars are pretty, but show me what you can do with something normal!

And that's awesome they're including Spa. I hope there are many others as well.

'08 MX5 GT 6spd.
I apologize in advance for ranting.
1) Backfire and smoke still look completely bad. To be honest, none of it looks real. I wish they'd stop pussyfooting around and give us some gritty details as well.
2) There is still nothing thats making my jaw drop. I also think the PGR3 reflections in the windshield were far more realistic with the glints of sun off other cars and scenery being reflected.
3) Spa is such a boring completely predictable choice for T10. It's already in every other racing game, and should have been in 4. I wish they'd pick up on some of the smaller community tracks that are out there, like Motorsports Ranch out by me. New, thrilling tracks that no one has heard of where you can drive off the track and go to your garage and mod your car etc. I mean, the game is more like a private track day simulator rather than racing anyway. I've said it 1000x, Shift did it right as far as tracks go. That lineup is SOLID with half of the tracks (Monza, Zolder, Dijon, Brands Hatch, Donington, Willow Springs, Oschershleben, Dubai + the normal tracks + historic on several + all times of day) not even being featured by any other games.
Hopefully something happens soon...otherwise I'm going to get a killer deal on a PS3 from some rich kid buying a PS4 and GT6.

To be fair, that video looks like a VERY early demo of the game. It's not fair to bash the shit out of it when that is not the final product.

Yeah, no doubt! But we're talking about just the game haha. The console itself has no control over what Turn 10 does
I'm looking forward to the new cars, tracks, detail and playing with friends the most. Hell, Tyler and I still play Forza 4 online.

Yep, I play FM4 everyday. I have my complaints but overall it's a great game. I just pray that FM5 has new wheels and moar tracks
Btw, it took ~23 seconds for the race to load in that video that Marble just posted. To me that seems like a pretty long wait. I wonder if that's being loaded straight from the disc or if it's installed on the hard drive.

I noticed that too. I would think they would have a build they could load on to a hard drive to prevent any sort of theft even though you can't purchase the Xbox yet.
No denying the game is fun. Waaaay to many hours put in to 3 and 4.

I doubt the 360 controller will sync up to the One. Let alone a steering wheel.

Okay, one question, the article mentions the RS7 Sportback, but only that it's on the cover of the LE. Is it going to be in the game?!

I'll be ordering the LE even though I have no idea when I'll be getting the console
I'm sure the RS7 would be in the game. I'm sure Audi had to pay quite a bit to get their car on the cover, so I doubt they wouldn't allow the car to be in the game.
