Rolled my TL 1.5 times
...and then continued down that hill on the roof of my car and smoked the edge of a guardrail
I was travelling down a 2 lane highway (one lane each way) and just nicked the gravel on the outside of the lane and completely lost it. I was pointing into oncomming traffic, and then when i fishtailed the other way, rolled.
I was going downhill and just outside of my lane was slopped, which made it possible for me to roll.

after i post all the pics i'll tell you about my injuries

All the glass was intact still after my rollover. These pictures are from the towing compound after they winched it out of a ditch.
I got out of that with a scratch on my arm from . I think that was from the airbag deploying.
Mind you if I did not have my seatbelt on I would have been a dead man easily. ...but all strapped in.. rolling over and smashing into the corner of the guardrail at a high rate of speed.
Safe car indeed!

Seat belts do save lives. A guy I know rolled his Civic a few months ago and didn't have his seatbelt on... He is still alive and doing well now... but the guy still doesn't wear a seatbelt
Glad you are staying within the "family" and I hope that I never have to test the safety of our cars...

HOLY SHIT.
I'm so glad that the TL can take that shit and that I'll be OK.
Go to the doctor to do a checkup just in case.
Glad you came back to the TL family in a matter of hours/days.

What went through your head when you were rolling and sliding upside down into a guard rail? And I'm very surprised and glad you made it out safely. Makes me feel confident to have my daughter in the car.

HOLY SHIT!!!! I'm glad that your okay and you got into a new TL! Seriously, go to a doctor and get yourself checked out and make sure you are okay! This thread exemplifies why the TL got such high crash safety ratings!
It's wild to see how mangled your TL is and to know that the only injury your suffered was a scratch. +1 on the checkup too...internal bleeding is a bitch!!!
Also, congrats on the new purchase, and drive safe
Thank you all for your support for my well being.
I did go to the hospital right after the crash. I was strapped to the stretcher and the whole nine yards.
For the fellow Torontonian. I was travelling northbound on Airport Road just north of Highway 9.
There is actually a sign up there that says since 1978 there has been over 4000 accidents in the next 20km of road. I should add a +1 to that.
I was travelling approx 100KM/H.
When I first started skidding i was just hoping to regain control without scratching the beast. After my first roll i thought ok well so much for that.
It was scary as hell seeing the edge of the guard rail coming straight ahead. I thought it was going to come right through the windshield. I just held the steering wheel white knuckle tight at 10 & 2 (which looked like 8&4 because i was upside down lol) and holy sh*t did the front of the car ever absorb that impact well. Other than the scratch on my arm.. nothing.. no bruise on my chest. no bump on the head.
pretty lucky.
It should be any day now that insurance settles up my claim and I'll get out of this rental corolla and into that new 2008 TL.
