Supercomputer Lighted Door Sills; FEW SETS LEFT+Donation to Holiday Charity Drive
Yup...
So I had a long conversation with Supercomputer to start his so famous illuminated door sills...and after a long wait he AGREED !!!
Mods this is a feeler thread. Supercomputer still has to work something out with Astro....
MOD EDIT: Link to installation instructions (from Post #27) http://www.sbadesign.com/acurazine/sills/
Well here are the details from his email:
New changes: LED dude....brighter...better....and no buzzing noise from inverter like before and long lasting !!!
Color Options: Red/White/Blue
Pix:
Now Supercomputer has to get some deal workout out with Astro before this begins and he will do that once he gets a head count of:
35+ Heads on Blue 15+ heads on Red and 15+ heads on White.
So lets get the head count....A lot of you might know Supercomputer for his aluminum pedals and the original Illuminated door sills....
Well, let the head count begin

Maybe the MODS can do some editing on some of this for us so Post 1 is more clear.
The time line to get payments in before the pre-order price ends is 6am 4/25 Monday Morning.
As for what you get its pretty clear,
4 Door Sills Front and Back. These are full door Sills that lay over the top of your current ones and are adhered with 3, Tape and "Rubber based Epoxy "Optional" that are already on the sills. They are made of Stainless Steel. You also get 4 sets of electronics and extra wire for the install.
Thanks

See pictures if you have any questions.

Yes they are still overlays and Yes thinking about making a comeback to the forums. 1 Kid and 1 on the way and a Job which I travel 50% of the time has keeped me away from the forums the last few years.
If you use the 2 sided 3M tape with a rubber based epoxy the fit is real tight. See the above pics. They are very durable and the look is nice with a great glow that is not overdone.
Guys there not as elaborate as some of the others have created on there own but 2 things there not 400.00+ Dollars You dont have to cut your stock sills apart, If your leasing or selling you can take them with you or resell and the price delviered to your door is pretty good if you ask me for what they are. But dont get me wrong what guys have created on there own are beautiful. Also the fail rate on my EL panels was less then 1% The new LED ones will be even less then that and the new design has no inverters NO BUZZING.
**MOD EDIT** Lead time will be 4 weeks from when we take orders. Also out of the (price) 5.00 of the price will be donated to Acurazines Charity "Charity Play".
If we are going to do this I want everybody to be happy. Swoosh is going to run this thread and get us organized, He will get the first set and do a DIY for everybody.

Hey Supercomputers, nice to see you back. I have no issues if you want to do a feeler thread BUT I had to edit out the price. You don't have to go through Robb anymore to be a vendor. Just click on the "Advertising Information" button at the bottom of the page, once you get enough interest.
For people wondering, and without violating the rules, the sills will be under $200 shipped to your door so these guys dont get flooded with PM's.

^^^ No-there is no gap. They look OEM. They go on top of the original sills.

Thanks Steve you are one of the originals. They still look great. Here is the original DIY write up. It will change due to being no inverters and now LED lights. But it gives you and Idea.

Make MyTL Great Again
These are relatively easy to install. They look great and still work after I installed them about 5 years and 9 months ago.
I originally created an install guide which can be found here: http://www.sbadesign.com/acurazine/sills/
I have the original EL lighted ones, if the new ones are LED, install instructions might differ.
Please add the link to the 1st post.

A wonderfull Job you did there. I admire them as they are very nice I am sure you put a ton of time and effort in and they look great. When we first started back in 2004 We were going to originaly cut the sills like you did. But after some R and D it was just not practical for the masses from a price point, and Time point of view. Also we wanted our Mod to be removable if necessary and the car able to go back to a stock position if the customer wanted with out having to buy extra sets of parts. The other issue we had during testing was buy cutting the sills and laying the EL tape up behind it with out protection water and debrie could get behind there and short out the panel and we did not want any type of fail rate so we went with a fully enclosed pieice so it was protected. Our New ones will be LED Driven and have no inverters. Again congrats on your work you did a nice job.

My original DIY guy Adam, He did an insane job the first time. Great guy. He has hosted the directions on his site all this time. Adam if these happen and you still have your car will get you an upgraded set so you can do your magic.

I did put a lot time into it. I started with a CAD model of the sill i re-engineered at work and then cut them out on our CNC at. I made fixtures and all so it is very repeatable. just set it up and hit the go button....I am working on filling the letters in with some clear polyurethane. just working out the kinks now. My EL panel i got is sealed so no water can get in. you can barely hear my inverters as i paid for high-end ones. 21$-31$ for the rears and for the fronts. I was trying to think of ways to use LEDs but EL strips just makes sense. And the EL-tape i got is BRIGHT!. but then again i wasnt in the market to sell these as a whole kit. I just wanted to CUT them out for people who wanted it. It all fell through bc i did not want to pay to become a vendor when i do this on the side as a hobby and is not going to be my soul source of income. I defiantly like the lines in there. very unique and i think i am the only one with it
