Talking I am back, with a unicorn (I guess)..

Just bought this 1998 Acura 3.2 TL. I just got home. Car is super clean outside, need some TLC inside. Clean title and all for $1500. Its got check engine light one with P0141 code. I'll take care of that on Monday. Drivers seat is missing couple of bolts and passenger side vent it broken but theres nothing that a little bit of super glue can't fix.

Its silver exterior with black interior (guess thats what makes it unicorn..lol ). Heated seats and mirrors but no traction control ( I thought premium pack include TC too) some 17" rims, nice aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth. Its got a tick over 255K miles but runs smooth like a knife through butter. Time to swap suspension and strut bar over. Engine seems smooth but I'll see in couple of days how is it performing or else swap one out of my 97 over to this one)

Pics will come tomorrow as it is too dark to take pics right now.

P.S. Arthur I am gonna need my tail lights back.

Well done. The '98 3.2 had only one option, TCS. Heated seats/mirrors were standard for that year.

Pics of the exterior. Will post interior shots later on. Photobucket is taking too damn long to upload.

You got wheels, tint, and debadged. Looks like whoever had it before you probably took good care of it. Indeed, very clean car.

Is it me or does the front corners on the headlights don't work?

You can say that I guess. . I would like to get back in the TL but no one in family drives stick shift so I have to drive the 3. But I can take it when ever I want, so no problem there.

I am not sure about the color name. Need Acura experts to chime in to confirm that.

Interior pics. Its getting cleaned up tomorrow. Its going to be a busy day...

Wheels..

Engine can use a little cleaning.. That torn intake tube is getting replaced tomorrow as well.

Crack in the windshield, I guess its OK for now to drive like this. I'll replace it sometime in next few months..

I just noticed this evening, its missing passenger front door sill and all four floor mats.. . I'll just use the tan parts from the 97. No biggie but it sure is going to look ugly..lol

Yea its heather mist. Who had this car? Did per the mileage, the seats look great. That deck sounds good. BTW does it sound odd having the highs firing down on you? I wounder why acura chose to do this set-up...lol.

The ceiling speakers actually sound very nice. I actually had someone say that if he was looking at this car, and saw the ceiling speakers, he'd buy it just for that reason, haha.

The car looks good, but I get the feeling it was resprayed... Or was it the camera?

Your sister is lucky you found it for her!!

Wth... I have the same EXACT crack on my windshield too. Nice interior color, and yes it does not look like the car has 255K miles on it.

It's done to raise the sound stage, that way the music doesn't sound like it's coming from the floor.

It not noticeable in person.

Yes, I confirmed that with the body shop guy next to our shop. Only the bumpers were painted. No body damage or any kind of frame damage. Car is clean underneath as well. Hood has a little ding right in the middle of the grille and headlight area, thats why it doesn't sit flush on that side. Otherwise no issues. Same thing with the trunk but its cool .

Thanks!

Replacing O2 sensor as we speak. These little fuckers are expensive. Car Quest has one for $348, Monument sells it for $245. Of course my price is much less. Gotta love these hookups.

I replaced the O2 sensor behind the cat. Now I am on to replacing the front 2 sensors as well (with the old ones from 97). I also had a pending code for insufficient EGR flow.

Here is the confusion, current engine and transmission got 255680 miles on it. Would you rather take the intake apart and clean the EGR ports or replace the whole engine and transmission with the one with 100K less miles? Car runs very smooth though, transmission got that 1-2 shift jerk..

if you plan on giving the car to your sister to drive... i would just swap out your engine into this body and sell off this engine cheap if u can... it would be less hassle for you down the road if this engine takes a dump... and you will still have your engine sitting around?

I'd just drive this one for now... maybe run it into the ground and rebuild the other one in the mean time.

Good idea but I guess I am going to run the car with this engine for a month or so because I just ran another smog test and it passed like no body's business. Runs super clean and catalyst still has a lot of life left in it. I am being honest I did not cheat when I smogged this car. lol

might as well just change all the fluids and do all the tune up items on it and drive it as is.

Tony I hate you! No seriously the car is so freakin' clean! I so wish I could find a clean 98 3.2 for a reasonable price. The QX4 is good in winter but god damn does it a shit-ton of gas... I miss my TL.

Nice pickup Leather seems to have help up VERY well.

You gonna swap suspension and wheels over as well, or just sell 'em?

Psst, nice park job with the 3

Thanks. Yeah, leather held up pretty good considering cars age and miles.

I'll swap suspension over, still undecided on the wheels about which ones I should keep.

About the park job, thanks. Damn HOA painted every single curb in the community red. Only 6 parking spots for 113 houses. So I made my own.

HOA.

And I got it registered and insured today. $46 a month for liability, not bad at all and full coverage is around $75-$80. Reporting for daily duty from tomorrow.
