Another Successful Timing Belt / Water Pump Job at Hamilton Honda
Just got back from Hamilton Honda. What a great bunch of people!
Got there just before 1:00 PM. Was washed and ready to go by 5:30. Jim Mann, the service manager and Roy the mechanic who did the job are former Acura guys from David Acura of PA. I asked Roy how he was able to do this in just a few hours and he said, "When You've Done over 100 Of These, You know the Routine For Every Bolt, Clamp, Fitting, etc."
They're the cleanest, friendliest, and most professional dealership I've ever been to. Tons of comfortable seats with 2 large screen TV's, computers with high speed internet, and a cafe with sandwiches, salads, and a huge assortment of beverages. Jim told me flat out that they neither make nor loose money on this timing belt special, and being open only 16 months, they're doing it to get all the business they can get their hands on. I asked him if this timing belt special would be extended beyond the end of the year, he said "I Haven't Decided Yet". They've had TL's come for 100's of miles to cash in on this special. And why not? You're saving around $500 versus having it done at a typical Acura dealer.
They also included a free oil & filter change with synthetic blend oil.
$497.54 out the door INCLUDING hydraulic tensioner (mine was leaking) and tax.
So, if you're looking to do the timing belt / water pump job, the savings make worth the time and trip.
Highly Recommended !!

Wow that's awesome! I'm glad your dealership did you right! Sadly I can't stand my local dealership.

Good deal, but why start a separate thread from the one already started?
Just asking....

YES!
INCLUDING the timing belt, water pump, serpentine (accessory drive) belt, hydraulic tensioner, new antifreeze, labor, and tax. And unlike an independent shop, you get an EXPERIENCED Acura/Honda mechanic who's done tons of these jobs that knows his way in, around, and through our cars to boot.
And don't forget the FREE oil & filter change AND full inside & out car wash just for stopping in!
Can't beat that with a stick !!!

I might have to check this out, it's a two hour drive each way for me but I've heard they give out a loaner car and they have a shuttle too if I want to stay in the area while the car is being worked on. Either way it sounds like it'd be worth the trip

Nice!!! Glad it went well DMZ. Those folks at Hamilton really are some good people, I'd do the drive again in a heartbeat for any other major service to my car. Prices are top notch!

Wow! That's awesome. I still have time as my '06 has 71K, but I just reached 100K on my '03 Civic. I think I will give them a call and hopefully they can do my TL in sometime in '12 when I should reach 105K.
I'd probably grab a loaner or NJTransit (if it's nearby) and head into Philly while the car is being serviced.
Sounds like they get it. To make money all you have to do is offer good deals and you'll likely always have more than enough business.

Wow great deal, I don't know what happen with the HONDA/ACURA dealers from southeast,GA and north,Fl my best quote was in Honda dealer $582+tax if I bring the parts or $798+tax including the parts. Acura dealer $980+tax including parts and they don't accept that you bring parts.

Thanks. I didn't know this deal was still running. At 80k, I am seriously contemplating doing mine early - before they decide to shut this deal.
Hmmm, I am supposed to be 2 exits up from there by end of January. Thinking...

i just called hamilton honda right now bcuz i received an email saying 389.98 for timing belt special, and the guy told me its only for hondas. Then he told me it would be 600+ something and i told him about someone i seen in the forums who got the special plus the oil and the filter and car wash for the price u said DMZ. He told me that parts for tl are different and the tensioner is not included ( $ 75.00 ) extra.
i live in nyc so i would have to drive all the way over there to do it ..but for the price DMZ said its worth it. Plus im a student and my funds are very limited.

I had the service done for the $389 plus $75 for the tensioner in Dec. There's a chance the deal could be over for the TL but here's my advice. Call back Hamilton Honda and ask for Nicole, if she's unavailable ask for Sal. Nicole or Sal can definitely give you a solid yes or no on the timing belt special being available to you. Hopefully it works out in your favor.
Let us know how it worked out.

This special 'OFFICIALLY' ended yesterday, Feb 28th, but they'll still honor it if you call and ask ... and do so SOON.

Why? Because it's due when the car hits 105,000 miles.

Because by this age, MOST of the hydraulic tensioners out there are leaking. With the $$$ you'd save at Hamilton Honda on this job, I wouldn't scrimp on the extra $75 and just let them replace it. You'd STILL be getting the timing belt / water pump job for under $500 out the door.
They showed me mine was leaking at 103,000.

They are not making very good deals on other items, at least not for me.
I asked for a quote for front and rear brakes, including rotors for my TL-S
And is was a little more than my local honda dealer.
