Ha...it does look fake...BUT, I can def see where the production model might look nearly the same.
Now, I'd rather have the GTR over the POS Viper crap any day of the week & twice on Sunday.

Viper is not a POS...but it s nothing compare to skyline GTR... GTR is a legend.. even though it might not be the fastest car but the ability for tuning and handling is just WOWOWOW

i guess this is the bi monthly edition of 'heres the gtr!'. can't see nissan going to all the trouble of making a gtr concept if all they're going to do is modify a g35 coupe. the gtr is supposed to be a seperate car from the skyline coupe now, maybe they'll be nice enough to release an updated concept at the tokyo auto saloon.

It is a standard turbo with an electric motor assist in the mid section. The electric motor instantly gets the turbo spooled at low revs, well below the boost threshold. It then disengages when there is enough exhaust energy to drive its self.
This way you can run large turbos without the normal low end issues.

The current G35C has a 10.3:1 compression ratio which is only good for detonation when used in conjuction with a twin-turbo setup. Nissan would have to chop the CR to somewhere around 8.8:1 to run safe boost. The reduction in CR will take a CHUNK out of the stock G35C's 280hp. In theory, you'd be adding that twin turbo setup to a 230hp (guess) G35C and the question is: can the boost be raised enough to reach 380hp (i.e.: the alleged R35) and still operate efficiently.
Peace.
