Tint pics? 50/30
Hi guys, in a attempt to stay legal. I have decided to go with 50% front , 35% for the back. Basically, the laws where I am, is actually 75% for the front, so I am compromising with 50%, cause 75% isn't worth it and doesn't even show.
My previous car, I had 50 in the front and 20 in the back, and the contrast is too much. So I've decided to go with 50 and 35. However, I am wondering if anyone has any pics of this so that I can get an idea on how it looks?

yeah, I know, the US is more lenient with the tint laws, Im in Montreal Canada. If I try and even put 35% in the front, a friend of mine got pulled over and got a pretty ugly ticket from the cop. They even have the right to rip them off if they want, you believe that?
So Im basically stuck with 50% in the front, cant go darker, I know it wont make the car look a lot nicer, but at least its better then the stock I have now.

sorry, lol didn't see that, wow I'm surprised. 35% front?
but I've heard about your speeding laws, thats scary stuff. I'll be scared to cross the line into Ontario.

I second the need to see a pic of 50% front tints. Here in PA, I believe front tinting is limited to 75%, so I also may do a 50% to stay semi-legal. If anyone can point us to a pic, I would appreciate it.

I have 50% up front and 35% in the rear. I will post a pic as soon as it stops raining. The difference is not as great between the front and rear windows as I thought it would be. It looks darker since I have Ebony interior so even though I'm legal in my area, I still might be stopped since it looks darker than it really is.

I had a 2004 Maxima for two years, I had 5% tint all around, never bothered by anyone. My bro has 35% and it is very light, I can't even imagine how 50% or 75% look like, why even get them. Everywhere I hear it is 35% front and back, and the rear window can be anything. Unless you live in a are where law enforcement has nothing to do but give tint violations, that just sucks.

I've seen 35%, and it looks "darkish" to me with the ebony interior at night. I've seen plenty of posts on here about people getting pulled over with 35%. I guess it's all relative. I'm looking to cut glare and protect a little from the summer sun. I'm not looking to go gangsta style or anything close, although those who do with WDP look pretty sweet. I don't think I've ever seen 50%, or if I have, I didn't realize it.

I went with 50/35 on my new TL. Stay with high quality, color stable films. I like ceramic films because of the high heat rejection values, and no interference with electronics. Moleskin (felt tape) is highly recommended on TL, because of the history of scratched windows on TLs. You can't go wrong with F1 Pinnacle, Huper Optik or Wincos. I'm sure others will chime in with their favorite brands. Here's my 50/35 Wincos.

I have a WDP with parment (tan) interior. In Jersey, you can't get any tints on the front window, but I've had my cars done in the past and have never had any major problems with the law. I've had 20% on previous cars, but decided to go 35% with the TL. I thought it was going to be very light, considering the interior color, but it's the complete opposite of what I thought, looks very good. Maybe its becasue the car is wdp and the contrast makes it appear darker? idk but no regrets here getting the 35%!

35% windshield... bought my car with tint... previous owner, kinda light though, didnt want the headache of retinting(just yet) but i think the po put 20% all around
my last car i had 5% all around, was bothered ONCE, luckily i beat the tint ticket
but my suggestion is to do light tint all around and do ur windshield cause thats where most of the light comes in from
ill post pics of my car tomorrow if its not raining out here

I recently got my tint done here in Montreal also. The 75% law in Montreal is horrible, complete waste of money. It's literally putting on a clear film on the front windows.
My go with 35% all around. It looks more 'factory' then going 50%|35%
I personally found 35% too light and decided to go with 15% all around. Haven't got pulled over yet!

Skads. here's another angle of 50/35. Don't forget, that darker (lower %), doesn't always mean cooler inside, just less visible light going through. It's the properties of the film that makes it effective. Look at the heat rejection values on some of the ceramic films, and compare them to dark, cheap films, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Even 70% V-Kool, while hardly noticeable, will give you significant protection from heat, over 50%. But at the end, no matter what you put on your car, if it sits in the sun, it will still get hot inside. It's poorly insulated environment, surrounded by lots of glass, not much that can be done about it.

Nice. More Montreal folks =D
I never knew our laws were that strict on tint... I don't live in Montreal anymore, though.
Car still registered in Quebec. Best thing ever. Hahah.

You, VMT Squad, myself... and about 5-6 other members that I do not remember the user-names to.
The Toronto folks are increasing in number though.

but if you look at the 35% in the back, their pretty dark, if i put those in the front, im almost guaranteed to get pulled over

ADVANCE.
My car is 50% up front (not windshield) and 20% in the back. I think it flows good for me. I live in Northern Cali, so far so good! (crossing my fingers) =)

Aside from the tint difference, I love that pic. That's basically what my TL is going to look like.
To keep it tint related - you buy a car that's tinted. I know you can get the % checked, but how can you find out what material it is? The seller doesn't remember, and it's merely for my own curiosity.

That's a big difference. Is there anything in between 35 and 50? I wanna tint mine with the same shade all around but 35 is too dark and 50 is too light. I had 35 all around on my previous car and I got pulled over all the time.. I'm done with that.

I'm assuming you mean 20 in the back glass and 35 on all 4 side windows? I think I may get my windows tinted next week. 05 TL Light gray/silver (I forget the real color name, just got it earlier this week).
