Has anyone noticed that all the interior bulbs in our cars are the same?

I thought that 194, 168, 921, etc. were different sizes. But I've found out through experience that every single interior bulb is the same. All these bulbs are interchangeable:

-Interior dome lights
-Vanity lights
-Door lights
-Trunk
-License plate
-Reverse

Just thought I'd put it out there.

True, but when ordering your LED's, the length of some bulbs are different.

shipping is expensive because there are 10 bulbs...so about 1.50 each..not that bad i guess. i prefer the supernovas that kennedy recommends in the Definite LED thread in the garage as my 194 replacement. Those have an evener output as they are SMT as opposed to the ones mentioned above from ebay. i have a similar type in my doors and u can see bright spots

so i bought these 74's for the glovebox and the center console, but they are actually thicker than the stock bulbs. as a result when you plug them in, you cannot fit the cover over them. i guess an easy fix would be to widen the hole on the cover or you could just remove the covers. as of right now i have removed them, but id like them in there so ill prolly just sand the hole wider

i tried pushin on the one in the glovebox and i couldnt get it in and saw that the reason was because it was too thick for the hole (that's what she said ). i might be able to do that one, but theres no slack on the one in the armrest so that one will be a lot harder. i think it may be a lot easier to file it down a little

like I said it was a pain in the ass but can be done. did you line it up(glove) cuz the cover snaps in a certain way? Believe it or not you may have less slack but the armrest was easier........

Will these fit in our vanity mirrors (08 TL-S)?

http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481

Or are they too large and is it better to go with something a bit smaller such as these?

so i finally got around to installing these...i couldnt find a round file so i just used a blade and shaved a little of the plastic off. it was a pretty easy install after that, but i must say im disappointed with the light output. I figured it would be much better, but def not what i was expecting..its because of the diffuser, but still i was kind of hoping for something like the supernovas in my domes. oh well..not bad..i guess its better than stock

#74 LED Quick Comparison

So i had originally ordered the ones mentioned above from vleds, but I wasn't too happy with the output. As a result I decided to order some different ones from superbrightleds. Check out the comparison..(as close as i could get to the naked eye with the camera)

Glovebox

Vleds

Superbrightleds

Center Console

Vleds

Superbrightleds

I am definitely happier with the ones from superbrightleds. as you can see there is not much of a difference in the LEDs used in the glovebox, but there is a pretty significant difference in output for the LEDs used in the center console (check out the output on the passenger seat). The ones from superbrightleds however are just a tad warmer in color than the one from vleds.

^ its pretty simple. start with the center console as it is easier to see whats going on. see the white circular piece (where the light is emitting from)..use something skinny and pull it outwards, your nails will work fine. once pulled out u just twist the bulb connector out of the housing. Now the bulb is exposed so you do as you would do with any other bulb, easier to do using scotch tape. and then the reverse to re-install. the glove box is the same way. one thing to note is that there isnt much slack on the wire in the center console so it does get a little tougher to install LEDs

here's the info on the bulbs from superbrightleds:

Product: 74-xHP3 Wedge Base LED bulb $ 3.49 (each)
Options: Cool White 74-CWHP3

is it just me or does cool white from superbright leds give off more of a purple color. I ordered the 912x12 cool whites for my doors and they're more purple compared to the white look of the wled-whps for my domes. does it go the same way for the 74-xHP3 Wedge Base LED bulb $ 3.49 (each) Options: Cool White 74-CWHP3
