Winter wheels question. Elbrus vs Sport Edition

We are hunting for a set of economical winter wheels from tirerack and narrow down to 3 choices. Elbrus I02, I06 & Sport Edition TX8. All 18 x 8. around 40 + offset. Should fit the 2011 Base MDX fine. The Elbrus is made from High pressure casting construction while the Sport edition are just regular casting process.

Does anyone out there that has experience with these brands of wheels? Any quality issue we should be worry about? thanks.

I can't speak to Elbrus quality, but I bought a set of 17 x 8" Sport Editions back in 2002. We sold the vehicle with the wheels in 2003 and within 6 months, the new owner called and asked where I bought the wheels because he needed to order a new one. He hit a pothole and the wheel was bent beyond repair.

As for looks, with these being winter wheels on an SUV, I recommend the Elbrus I02...the I06s will be a pain to clean...

Food for thought...good luck...
