Hi everyone,

We purchased a 2012 MDX Advance and noticed there are 4 sensors on the rear bumper. They don't seem to do anything? I was expecting that they would sense backing up to an object, but I never hear any beeping when I get close to anything. The rear view camera works, but just a little confused?

Any thoughts on what they are for? Or maybe they are not working properly?

Those should be your back-up sonic sensor that engage every time you put the MDX in reverse. There should be a module in the rear hatch area on the left side where you can adjust the sound level with a small flat tip screwdriver.

Here is a pdf of the sensor installation and pg 13 and 14 should show the module location and where to insert the screw driver to adjust the sound. Maybe the sound might be turn down/off?

Is this only for the tech package ?

 

Not standard, OEM aftermarket you can install on any 07-13 MDX for the rear only.

 

Check around the walls of the trunk area and see if there is a switch to turn on the "backup sensors".
