What is a current good deal on replacement D2S HID bulbs?
Been quite a while since I had HID light problems on my old 02 TL-S so I've mostly forgotten. Last night my right HID headlight turns on normally, a few moments later it turns pinkish, then goes out. Turn it off & back on, same thing. IIRC, the light turning pink is most likely the bulb??????
And if it turns out to be a ballast/inverter/igniter problems, wasn't it cheaper just to buy an aftermarket HID kit with everything?
Assuming it is the bulb, what have you guys been using for replacements D2S bulbs?
Hopefully something cheaper than the Acura OEM?
Thanks as always!

The king of all d2s bulbs here: https://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...66240-cbi.html
PInk is typically indicative of bulb failure. But to test, I would switch bulbs from one side to another to rule out the ballast. In the 02 TL, aftermarket ballasts were ideal due to high failure rate of the poorly constructed/sealed OEM ballasts. I believe on the MDX, the OEM ones are built much better and I would stick with OEM if it did turn out to be a ballast issue.

I did the OSRAM CBI 5500k and other did the Morimoto XB35 5500k. They both seem to be a worthy upgrade compared to the OEM bulbs. I even did the OSRAM in my RDX and that improved the HIDs light brightness, width, and reach of the beam also. It can be a little tricky; but, you can exchange the bulbs without removing the bumper. It went even faster when I removed the battery (don't forget to have the radio/navi code handy). I just needed a flashlight and small mirror (borrowed wife's make-up compact) to make sure everything was seated and clipped in properly before closing everything up.
I tried the OSRAM 4200K nightbreakers and they were not as bright and didn't improve behind the wheel visibility as the OSRAM CBI 5500k bulbs.

^^^^ Would you say the extra $$ for the CBIs is worth it vs the Morimotos? I love my Morimotos (https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-2g-m...-5500k-942854/) but I wanted the CBIs first but there wasn´t enough cash at the time.
