So I finally received my TRS Morimoto Elite H11 kit for fogs and have a question. The kit comes with the lamps, ballasts (that look like crap) and their heavy duty relay harness. I was under the impression that all the install would require was to connect the factory H11 to the input of the ballast, and to connect output from the ballast to the new HID lamps. This is how I had it done on my CLK (different kit) and it worked fine for years. Has anyone here install the TRS H11 fog kit without the relay harness?? Does it work ok? Is the relay harness really necessary? Thanks

 

You should be able to run these without the relay, but look out for flicking. If this happens then mostly likely the kit will require their relay.

 

You don't need the relays and you won't have any issue with flickering.
