Rock Chips!

Am I the only one who seems to get hit by hundreds of rocks daily?

I have a 2010 MDX and the grill has so many chips on it. I wish Acura hadn't designed it to be so big with so much surface area to hit.

Also, my windshield has so many tiny chips on it. Tons of really tiny ones... Is the glass poor quality? Seems like our BMW got hit by rocks all the time, but nothing ever showed.

Anyways, just venting. Anyone else have rock chips like me?

I just feel sad, knowing how much the car costs... It hurts to see it get knicked up on a daily basis...

It is not just the MDX-one of the biggest complaints is the lousy paint that chips easily. Many have clear bra's on their vehicles. My 06 tsx has many rock chips.

Has anyone here put the clear bra on? I've been tempted the last couple vehicles but never did it. Do they stay clear long? Do they yellow? If I want to remove it later will it come off easily? I've seen them on cars but don't know anything about them. They seem like a good idea, is there a down side to putting them on?

they are a pain to take off as the car ages.

rock chips are just the way it is. you tailgate, you get rock chips, you drive on the hwy you'll get rock chips. honda paint chips. both my TL and the MDX have rock chips. short of covering the car in vinyl or a clear bra from head to toe...you'll get rock chips.

if it bugs you enough....get it resprayed.

Would the air deflector on the hood redirect debris Away? There is nothing more sickening then to hear the rock hit that does the damage.

I have the 3M clear bra and had it installed professionally, i believe they are gauranteed to not yellow. If you have a white vehicle, you might want to rethink a clear bra, but I looks great on most other colors.
