Rearview camera upgrade

Rearview camera upgrade
I have a 2013 w/tech and the camera is pretty bad; particularly at night. i read in other posts that a few users tried upgrading the white reverse lights with so so results but i dont want to go that route. Has anybody performed an upgrade to a the camera with higher res/better light sensitivity? If so, what are the specifics?

Its a shame that they didnt use the same setup that the 4g TL has. The camera in there was much sharper at night as compared to the MDX. My reverse lights did little to improve the vision back there but i went with these: http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-15-led...79-1-pair.html

I went with PlaZma, 400 lumen, Long (194 / 921 Bulb) from Carid.com for $22 per bulb. It is brighter than OEM; but, not headlight or fog light bright.

The first replacement LEDs I purchased only had a projection lens on the end. The lights were very bright; but, the projection lens sent a level light straight back and it did not light up the camera area. I sent them back and went with the Carid.com LEDs because they had LEDs on the side and end to provide more flood than spot light when backing up. I would stay away from any LED back-up lights with only a projector lens on the end and no LEDs on the side.
I almost purchased the V-LEDS license plate 18W LED back-up lights. Some of the reviews commented on the system not being weather resistant. It also looked like a PITB to connect to the existing MDX back-up lights.
