Price check on CPO 2011-2012 MDX
Hello All,
New member here - just discovered this forum. We're in the market for a used SUV and the MDX is currently at the top of our list.
I'm in the SF bay area, and the CPO numbers on 2011-12 models at local dealers with the Advance+Entertainment packages are:
2011, 12.8k miles, $39.9k
2012, 21.4k miles, $38.1k
2012, 21.1k miles, $39.9k
2012, 23.7k miles, $39.9k
2012, 24.1k miles, $39.9k
All the cars are either black or palladium metallic, and I just pulled these from Autotrader. Haven't talked to the dealers yet.
My main question is whether these are the going prices for the MDX. The fact that I'm seeing five cars in the same range tells me the answer is "yes", but I'd like your opinions.
Best Regards,

What most people on this site will tell you is why not just buy a new 2013 Tech for MDX for about 39k. That said, the advance has a few features that the regular Tech won't have. Plus that 39k price tag probably won't have entertainment.
I'm going to guess that those prices are about going rates but you can probably negotiate them down about $2-4K. hopefully the car you pick will have all the accessories you also want such as roof rails, side steps, etc... good luck with your purchase.
I have a 2011 MDX Advance with Entertainment and its a nice car.

Follow-up questions re: CPO 2011-2012 MDX
ntwillie, thanks for your response. The diff is indeed that a 2013 MDX @ $39k comes with just the Technology package, not Advance or Entertainment. That (and the $40k budget we've set for ourselves) are the primary reasons why we're looking at CPO.
We're going to make the rounds of the dealerships this weekend - will keep you posted. Is there a running (or sticky) thread where people report the price they've paid / deals they've snagged?
Also, I'm told that the CPO models come with the balance of a 7yr/100k mi powertrain warranty. I'd like to ask if people recommend buying a scheduled maintenance package (either from the dealer, or over the internet).
Thanks
