Price check for a 09 MDX Sport?

Dealer just quoted me $30,000 including taxes on a 2009 MDX Sport with RES and NAV. It has 59,500 miles on it. It is also Certified. Does this sound like a deal, or do you think I can get them lower. From what I have found this is about Normal maybe a little lower. Actual sale price is $27,950.

according to edmund's TMV dealer retail is 32600, nada clean dealer retail 34800, KBB dealer retail is 31433, CPO 31900.

sounds like a deal to me...of course these are prices for my area. typically if the price is below the retail prices in "the books" you're probably getting a good deal. makes you wonder what's wrong with it but it is CPO'd.

you can always try and get them lower. what's the worst they'll say? no?

I know. I did a carfax. I know they are not 100% but it came up clean. One owner no insurance claims. They were very interested in my car though. The sales manager told me he is looking for a type-s for 3 different people. maybe they are looking at it like a cash deal since they won't have to sit on the trade-in.

This didn't happen in 1 day either. I have been talking to them for about a month! LOL

I need something bigger for the family. That's why I've probably been a pain in the dealers a$$! Cause I'm in no hurry to get rid of it. It looks like you have both. You don't think I'll be happy with the trade?

i own both.

the MDX has it's place...travel and bike duty. it's a bit muted compared to the TL in terms of acceleration and handling but not bad for a 4500lb SUV. the MDX behaves a lot like a sedan.

the TL...retired from bike duty...now fun car duty and garage queen. i have some nostalgia in my TL (my first new car ever and the first one i ever bought myself, add the rare 6MT...she's a keeper).

since owning the MDX, i miss driving the TL. when i drive the TL, i love it that much more.

I wish, but not really. I have too many toys as it is. I will miss driving it! When I test drove the mdx I instantly noticed the body roll. Its not that bad with the sport, but nothing like the type-s.. It just feels planted.

better hope one of those sport shocks doesn't go....it ain't cheap to replace ($7-800 EACH).

the MDX is a little top heavy i guess you have to do what you got to do.

There is a reason that you won't see an MDX in WRC.

Seems like a good deal to me. I just paid that for my Certified 2009 Base with 59K miles. Took me a year to find one local under $32K, and the color combo I wanted. Was right on the money for edmunds pricing for a CPO base. They wouldn't come down anymore for me.

I would pay that for a sport, but doesn't hurt to negotiate either!
