Possible 2011 Advance purchase

I'm currently in the market for the MDX Advance with entertainment. I have a 2005 TSX that will be paid off by november and a 2006 TL. Due to our growing family, I plan on trading in the TSX for an MDX.

I found one exactly like what we've been looking for:
*2011 Black on Black Advance w/ Entertainment, 8777 miles.

It has the following accessories already added on:
*roof rack, advance running boards, trunk tray, and rear cargo cover.

The price is currently at $45,988.

Would this be considered a good deal? Trading in the TSX that's almost paid off with a balance of $8000. Or keep the TSX, pay it off, and get the MDX as a 3rd vehicle?

it's probably about market price. The accessories help a little. It's always nice to have a third vehicle in the family, especially if you both work. But that car insurance bill always bites when it comes due. I guess you're already aware of the challenges in keeping a black car clean...

Keeping it clean is no problem. I'm pretty anal when it comes to chores. Both our TL and TSX are black and have always been handwashed.

I do agree about the insurance part though. I wouldn't want to pay insurance on a vehicle if it's not being driven often. I'm leaning more towards trade-in.

Well, the deal fell through. The salesman sold the vehicle before I got there.

Guess I'll have to buy new.

Here's the link (I don't know how long it will be on the web):

I think New makes more sense.
There is more dealer markup in used car prices.
Would suggest you configure options and trim to your needs.
You might want to reconsider Blk exterior ...

Thanks EL. Your post makes me feel a little better. I test drove the night before 30 minutes to closing. The guy told me to come back the next day so we can work out a deal. When I got there about an hour after they opened, he told me that finance was being worked on for another cutomer's approval. I felt blindsided. Needless to say, the other customer didn't pass up on this MDX. I guess it was just a business deal to the salesman.

When I bought my TL, the Acura salesman called to let me know that someone else was interested in the exact configuration and color I had chosen, and he refused to sell it until I got there. He told other buyers that the sale was pending. That show's the diffence in cutomer service.
I just thought that I could have haggled a little a got a really good deal on an Advance/Ent with accessories already included.

Getting a newer model will give me piece of mind and I can utilize the full warranty period, if necessary.

Why not get black?

I like black vehicles. That's all I've ever owned. I do agree on it being a pain in the a$$ to keep clean though. I can barely keep it shiny past two days. It's shows dirt pretty easy.

But, watch out...when it's clean, it's the one of a few colors that have people breaking their necks at red lights and stop signs!

Black looks sharp but harder to keep clean as others say.
That being said ... No one should drive dirty cars regardless of color. Its just they get dirty faster and while in route.
They also show clean swirl marks and scratches easier no matter how often you wash.
Darker also seem to fade faster since sun light is absorbed more than reflected in lighter colors.
I went Griego as opposed to black - a comp between dark rich and clean. Did you see the thread on Griego vs Black ???

Regardless of color get it the way you want it take great care of it and enjoy for many years. Avoid those snoty games sales guys like you mentiond. New is way better IMO.

Thanks for that insight. I will go brand new and option it out to my specs. I think I'll just finance the vehicle itself, and add the accesories, like running boards and roof rack, later. Unless the salesman can throw those in at a discount or something of that nature. He's a pretty cool guy, and I think he'll work with me.

I did see that thread but my wife still wants the black, so I guess that's what we'll get.

Me personally, I would have gone with the white. IDK, but it just looks classy in that color to me.

For those who missed the link, this is the MDX that I was trying to purchase. It's long gone now, but I saved this pic from the website before it was removed.

I forgot I had this thread. I ended up purchasing a 2012 Adv/Ent.

Here's my updated thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/1-2g-mdx-2001-2013-166/new-2012-advance-ent-black-black-pics-859791/

I'm currently working on a few mods and will update that thread as soon as possible.
