Huh? Where the heck did that come from?
I did not, in any of my posts say/do any of those things. Talk about misinterpreting what I wrote/meant.

Either way, I apologize if it was misconstrued.

csmeance just copy pasta'd teh rules. It's not for anyone of you to take personally, it's just a warning to EVERYONE before bans are handed out.

Back OT, I agree with the guys on the headlights. If you don't want to do them I'm sure JnC would do them.. maybe even a local aziner whose done it before. One Saturday and you're done..

Thanks guys. Headlights would be great, but I just don't have the time to do it. weekends I coach a youth wheelchair basketball team and travel with the team a lot. Matte black inners on the headlights would be sick though. We'll see what I end up doing.

looking at this guys headlights, I just might have to do it sooner or later. I'm considering blacking out the chrome surround and tint/smoke the amber a little, it should look pretty sick.

Gotcha Majofo.
I guess it just bothered me because I felt like I was being called something I am not and don't like.

Anywho...
Yeah man, actually, I bet you this could be done in under 3 hours with someone that KNOWS how to do it. And I mean from OFF the car to back on. I actually have what you describe...blacked out chrome area...I left the chrome bar on the side though to define the length of the light, then I did VHT nightshades on the amber diffuser...black when off, amber when on. Especially visible at night.

If you decide you wanna give it a go, let me know and I'll answer whatever q's you may have.

I've done plenty of blackout headlights and have a buddy that can help. I don't think I'll have any problems with it. I just got to find the time and make sure my buddy can help with what I can't reach (since I'm in a wheelchair). I've already taken the bumper off the MDX by myself and should be able to get the headlights out too.

I'm with you man...let's chalk it up to a misunderstanding and let it go. It was not what I meant...

Matching HID's low beam and fog light would be awesome.
If you can get the bumper off alone, I BET you could get at all the bolts for the headlight assembly too. If so, you can totally do this alone. I was extremely scared to do mine...but turned out alright!

Per the rules of acurazine, we have to issue an official warning if we see something against the rules, it's not "pointed" or calling anyone out. If indeed it was, you would have gotten private messages. Also guys, lets keep cool and not start another string of posts with people pointing fingers at one another, lets keep this on topic about OutkastSL's build thread! I'll delete this post and clean it up in a bit.

Well maybe do Ebay 4100-5000k hids in low beams, do Nokya 2500k for fogs. I'd not do hids in brights as the trucks headlights are so raised up. My Ma's 08 MDX didn't even have bi-xenons like the sedans. Does 2010 RDX, MDX, and ZDX have them?

My baby just went over 100,000 miles...100,004 to be exact. I bought it at 88k and this car has been fantastic other than the annoying cel I keep getting for the EGR. I drove it to Vegas, Socal and soon a fee trips to Tahoe. The MDX has been a workhorse for me as I carry two wheelchairs, my regular chair and basketball chair, plus equipment and other crap. Love the MDX and can't wait to see how she performs in the snow.

Is the EGR valve the one at the front of the engine that is held in with 1 10MM bolt? If so, when/if you do seafoam on the engine...dip the EGR in the seafoam and let it kinda eat away at the crud inside.

CS, got it and done.

I've already had the EGR cleaned when I had the timing adjusted. I think it's crud inside the manifold and ports. I need my friends help to take the manifold and covers off so I can clean them.

Awesome.. ? for you, does the navi have voice features (you speak to it)? How is you leather holdind up with your chairs? My passenger sear has some scratches from the brakes. My next chair shouldn't do this as it'll have disk brakes. Im in a Quicky Ti/ Spinergy Wheels now but getting Crossfire w/ ergo seat with Spinergys and cross drilled disc brakes.

Outkast, black out the headlight housing itself. Tint the amber a little, like you said.. and as for the chrome around the projector, color match it to the paint on the car You can pick up a can of OEM paint online somewhere, can't remember the freakin name, but it's somewhat cheap.

I think that'd look pretty slick.

thanks for the advice but I don't think I'll do the colormatch.

desmond, my oem navi no longer has the voice and voice control no longer works due to the aftermarket deck. it doesn't bother me and i never used the voice control anyways. my driver seat is ok. passenger seat is in great condition. I actually load the wheelchair in the backseat passenger side and have a cheap walmart bath mat/rug that protects it and I throw the wheels in the front seat which also has a cheap but smaller walmart bath mat/rug in grey to match my leather interior.

something like this one but cheaper...

I have my front seat fully reclined, i put wheels on the floor, cushion in the seat, then sit ihr rest of the chair on top the cushion. Id be scared if i put stuff in the back seat it could shift where i couldn't get to it...lol.

I have the seat fully reclined, i pull the wheels off, throw it on the front seat, throw the wheelchair in the back seat and I'm done. It does slide around sometimes if I'm taking turns hard, but for the most part it's easy to slide back. Try it, it's easier than throwing it in the front seat and you can move the wheels to the back seat if you have a passenger in the front seat.

I dont think the low roof would clear the chair. My wheels are 26's. They barely make it into the front door...lol.

it will, i've done it in a 1996 accord with no problems and that's smaller than your TL. I'm 6' tall with a 16" wide x 17" deep wheelchair with 26" spinergy wheels. you have to do a minor twist to the chair to get it in the back.

haha, i'm not going to do that until it warms up. it's constantly raining and too cold to work on the MDX. the next thing i'm doing is clean the egr ports and replace my egr and pcv. i'm only getting 15-16 mpg with about 75/25 highway/street driving.

Wow, and I'm here thinking I'm getting bad MPG! Right now(winter) I'm averaging 12-14, with 90/10 city/highway! When it's warm out, it's about what you're getting right now with 90/10 city/highway.

yea, tomorrow i'm going to take the intake manifold cover off and clean it up. hopefully it's clogged and it'll solve my issues. i am going to order a new egr too, my friend did a smoke test and it has a minor leak from it. hopefully these two issues will be resolved soon.

Ever though about doing a sea foam treatment. When done right it works great. Some just suck through intake when you should also put in 1/2 tank of fuel and in drank case then change oil after within 100miles. It's neat to watch on youtube. a lot of really good DYI vids with neat smoke shows after..lol. Does wonders for added mpg and added power. Are you running synthetic or blend at all?

I've done the seafoam in the gas tank but not through the crankcase yet. I'll do it before my next oil change, I bought some yesterday.

Would you like a good instructional vid? the guy is doing it in his j30 powered accord. Shows which vacuum hose to use to suck it into intake manifold.

Thanks Desmond for the link and thanks jw.

I pulled off the intake manifold cover to clean the ports and it's already cleaned. I ordered an EGR to replace the lightly leaking one I have right now. Hopefully that'll improve my MPG and I'll do the seafoam in the intake when I get the EGR.

Quick update and pics. I got three new things installed today. First was the snowboard rack because we are going to Tahoe this weekend, new OEM window visors, and a new EGR. So far the EGR has cured the misfire issues, hopefully it'll recover some MPG from now on. Sorry she's dirty, it's been raining and since I'm going to Tahoe there's no point of cleaning her right now.
