newb looking for MDX, how does this look
hey yall
i'm new to the forum but not a newb on forums. i currently have a c class mb but have been looking for something that is more winter friendly as i'm moving up north to michigan. i've been looking primarily at japanese suvs, particularly used rdx and mdxs under 30k due to what i think is good reliability, resale value, good quality, and overall nice vehicles.
being a newb to the acura community, particularly the suv portion (i have some familiarity with the legend and nsx), was wondering if someone would mind giving me their honest opinion on this vehicle....is it a good deal or not, etc. for me, it has the things i'm looking for (SHAWD, heated seats, tow package, backup camera, enough powertrain warranty through oct 2017 as I wont be putting on the remaining miles before that time expires). not sure if buying right before 50k miles is a bad idea (any particular maintenance recommended at this time), etc. again, would appreciate any and all input
thank you so much for looking.

Nom-nom-nom!!!
This MDX looks to be in great condition. One-owner. Clean title. If there was one complaint I have, which is very minor, is the crappy gas mileage (city driving).

My Fiancee and I bought 2 CPO 2011's and love them both. Hers had 17k miles and mine had 31k. We both have the cpo warranties with extended warranties till 2019 but i doubt we will use them much for anything crazy. I had a 2009 TL AWD that i bought at 28k miles and besides oil changes, one coolant flush and rear Differential fluid change, it was very reliable through 34k miles i put on so i hope the MDX's hold up just as well. I dont think the Radio/GPS is as snappy as it was in my TL. There is sometimes a lag in response when you are inputting addresses or making selections.
Just make sure you get the certified list of items they checked and replaced.

We have a 2010 with Tech/Ent. 34k miles. No issues, just regular maintenance but one thing to check is if the AWD fluid change has been done. I cannot remember if ours was done at 20 or 25k but the maintenance minder will call for it to be done well before the 49k mark that the advertised vehicle is at.
You'll be pleased to know that unless you plan to do very frequent snow covered road driving, a good set of all seasons should see you through just fine because this 4600 lb SUV will be able to get through most winter road conditions with minimal drama.

For about a grand more, you should consider this one with the tech package:
http://www.acuranorthscottsdale.com/...5da0075d85.htm
It adds upgraded radio (including HDD with auto ripping of CDs, USB access) and navigation which has a much bigger screen and backup camera comes up on the nav screen. If you're moving to a new state, then the nav will certainly come in handy.
The MDX is a very reliable vehicle, just basic maintenance (oil changes and other fluids) up to 100K miles, then timing belt and major tune up service.
