New MDX added to the family!
Long story short, the paperwork is finalized and I will be handing in my SUV to for my used 2007 MDX Sport/Entertainment packages. She has been added to the garage with my beautiful, beloved 2008 CBP 6MT TL-S, and they shall love each other forever! She was purchased for $24k @ 91k miles, and I made sure they paid off my old vehicle AND (this is the biggie), included the 105k timing belt/water pump service. It was a single owner car with a crystal clean carfax. It was owned local to where I live, and had all scheduled maintenance done at the dealership I'm purchasing it from (I'm happy about that). Oh.....it came with brand new tires too and the leather is in immaculate condition.
Now to the reason for the post: I have a few questions regarding the MDX series: 1. I currently run Mobil1 full synthetic oil in my TL-S, is this suitable for the MDX as well? If so, the same weight is applicable? I currently run 10w30. 2. Any recommendations on what I should check/change immediately? 3. Tint: I want 20% ceramic all the way round (except for the windshield and sunroof). What did this cost you guys, approximately? No worries, I have a friend who did my TL-S, so its no problem getting that percentage tint. 4. Any recalls I should look into, or commonly occurring problems? Everything I've read so far leads me to believe that its just as safe and reliable as my TL-S, if not more so. As always, thanks for your input! |
After reading your post, I'm confused... you traded in the TL-S for an MDX?

No.....my initial posts said I added it to my garage WITH my TL-S. I traded my old SUV in for my MDX. Now I own both, TL-S and an MDX.

Haha my camera was dead yesterday, but I managed to snap a few photos. I traded in my 2007 Mecury Mariner (wasn't a bad car, but the suspension was stupidly stiff and the interior was cramped and inefficient). I'm in love with the MDX already. I'll upload some pics soon.
You can see my TL-S here |

Congrats. Both of those vehicles compliment each other really well. Makes for a great looking garage. |

Tint prices vary quite a bit on various factors; region, type of film, time of labor, etc. Ceramic is more expensive as the film cost is more expensive and it takes longer to apply.

congrats on the new addition. now it makes me wonder how many of us 3G TL owners also have an MDX in the stable. mine are both gray on black. my TL is the queen, while the MDX stays outside to guard the fort...lol. :tomato:
your questions: oil-5w 20 per OM things to check-fluids, brakes...give her a good detail to assess the overall paint and body condition. the tint- like alpha said, the MDX already comes with approx 20% tint to the rear windows. you may just want to add tint to the front to match the rest of the car. recalls/issues- i have an 09...as far as i know there are no recalls on the MDX. there are a few TSBs out, but other than some odd quirks no major issues. i say odd quirks b/c a few minor issues may include a sunroof that does not close from tilt (i have this), a driver's seat that rocks (i have this), and wind noise from the driver's side door/window (i have this one too). however, these are not common. the dealer tried to fix the wind noise, but it is a characteristic of MY car. the seat and sunroof will be addressed again when i take the car in to them in june. my brother has an 07 MDX sport and RES....no major issues except for the sport shocks to go bad (and these are NOT cheap to replace either, he's had one go out at 60kmi, and may have a 2nd one going poo and he has about 70kmi by now). otherwise the MDX is pretty solid. |
Thats great man, i got my '07 a few days ago, and i love it
|
Congrats you are going to love it. The 2nd generation MDX IMHO is ahead of its time when you factor in the Magnetic Suspension on the Sport models available from 07 on.
|
Looking good. Pics of this beauty never get old!
|
loooks like mine without the sport and RES. nice color combo!!
she wants to handle like a sedan in turns and corners...watch out. |
We have the same - minus the Sport and plus the roof rack and running boards. You will definitely enjoy the X!
|
Nice!
|
Great pictures and great looking ride! I would love to see pics of the TL-S and MDX together.

Looking Good:thumbsup:

NIceee.... I can't wait to pick up my MDX in a few days!!
|
Very nice stable of cars you have. The 2 best acura colors IMO!!
|
Nice! I'm looking at a MDX also but it'll probably be in a few years since I got my TL-S four months ago. I LOVE the grille design on your MDX. Wish Acura never changed it but oh well. Let's hope that the redesign brings something like that back! :D

bootyfull :teef:
MDX resale value FTW |
what do you do for work just wondering?.....
|
I work for a medium sized software company and my other half works for a very large airplane manufacturer (use your noggin, its easy :-D).
