MP3's in '06 MDX?

MP3's in '06 MDX?
I have looked all over and I am hoping to get a good answer here. I have made a data CD of MP3 songs (to allow for getting more songs on one CD....64 songs is too much for 1 CD of .wav files).
This CD plays fine in my '06 RL but I can't get it to play in my MDX. Any suggestions? I will be giving this CD to others so want to be fairly certain it plays in their cars.
Would a DVD work better if I'm not sure how old their car is?
