MDX sport/entertain help...(purchase?)

Okay fellow 2nd gen MDX experts, I need your opinion on this MDX sport/entertainment and price. It's an '08, but it only has 117 miles on the OD. How much lower do you all think I can get it for? Is 43,800 too high? Could I haggle at the Acura dealer for an '09 at a similar price? Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a branad new 09 Sport/Ent MDX here in Houston for $43995.00, so you probably could get them to go lower.

Yeah Btrand, I remember your post. That's a really good deal. I've been scouring the net for a good deal on this particular package and this is the best I could find. It's located in Chicago, and it's not a Acura dealer either. Plus, I would rather have one local here in Houston. I might end up with an '09, so I'll really have to haggle to get that price down.

Thanks. I guess I gotta swing by that dealer. I'm usually at Sterling Mccall on the Southwest freeway, but their inventory is limited from what I'm looking for.

Very good deal, habsone! Mine was similar for an '09 Sport/Ent. My local dealer also has an '08 with 100 miles on it. They could not match the current 3.9% financing incentive from AHFC b/c it has been titled thus being a used car.

Therefore I bought an '09 for roughly the same cost as the '08.

SlimTL, go see the dealer and quote an '09 before moving on any '08. The deals are very good right now. Good luck!

Congrats on your purchase.

As for the headlights, just leave the switch in the "on" position. It will remain on as long as the key is in the ignition. The lights turn off according to how long you have the vehicle programmed to turn off the lights after you remove the key. I'm not sure if you would still have the DRL function.

You could also put the switch to the auto setting so the lights only turn on when it's dark outside.

I haven't purchased my MDX yet, so maybe one of the other actual owners can chime in and confirm this.

Wow, so I should at least get the price down to 42 grand for an '09? If I can jump on a brand new 09 versus a slightly used but "new" 08, then I would be better off. For one it's a newer model year production and far less miles. Not that 100 miles matter, but the price paid does.
I agree, I'd rather get an 09 over an 08 for that price and no miles.

Thanks for your input.

It appears you are looking for your lights to remain constant on.
The DRL's are in the same housing as the lower foglights and they automatically turn on when the headlights are off and the key is in the ignition II position. They turn off once the key is turned off and removed. They also turn off once the headlights are on.

To make it easy for what you are looking for and save your HID ballast:

1. Put your light switch in auto

Your lights turn on and off automatically according to darkness outside vehicle and DRL's turn on and off according to headlights on and off. That way, you don't get confused and drive at night with the DRL's on, thinking it's your driving lights.

If you can get a loaded 09 for about the same price, I would do that. An 08 is about to be two years old no matter how many miles are on it.
