MDX Side Mirror Replacement

I smacked my side mirror into a concrete post when backing out of a spot. Any suggestions on cost to fix it? The motor and turning signal still work, and the glass is not broken. THe mirror is no longer secured thought and hangs sort of limply. Thoughts on a cost effective way to get fixed? My 2011 MDX is leased, so I need to replace properly. None of the paint to the exterior was damaged, but a plastic part on the bottom popped off.

Thanks!

If the mirror is not staying attached to the motor, then you need a mirror motor or the mirror it's self, because the mirror is attached to the motor with clips on the back of the mirror.

Take the mirror off and look at the back to see if the little clips are broken on the back of it, and look at the motor to see if the motor is broken.

If one of them are just go to the dealer and buy a new one and replace it.

Hope that helps.

ktimmins,

Yikes, I am always freaked out at those parking things whenever I back out of spots in my MDX. Sorry to hear about your far-too-close encounter of the parking lot kind!

As for a cost effective way to get the mirror fixed, I would recommend looking up local Acura shops and taking your MDX in to get the mirror repaired. It doesn't sound like the job would be too intensive or expensive. Just to clarify though, when you say the "plastic part on the bottom" are you referring to the outer base cap?
