MDX grill on my 11' TSX

essentially i made 2 grills out of the MDX grill. one is a ron jon style with just a middle piece and mesh. second is the MDX grill

i plan to paint the mdx grill in black chrome. the upper and lower grill will be dark black chrome while the middle piece will be lighter black chrome

the mdx grill is still not done yet. i trimmed the bottom a bit more. i still need to tint everything with black chrome probably next weekend. ive added some home depot garage weather stripping on the top. but im still figuring out how to mount it since its made out of rubber. not sure if im gonna use some epoxy adhesive or tapping screws.

ronjon style

Props to you for doing this. I don't like the gap at the top and mid section of the grill - but otherwise it doesn't look bad at all.

I'll take the shield over the beak any day.... I was so disappointed when acura made that change.

Looks hot on the tsx! Just wish it was a tiny bit smaller in scale....

LOVE it ... props for such a killer execution. I made mockups years ago of a TL with a 07-09 MDX grille; to see it come to life on a TSX is just awesome.

thanks

UPDATE:
painted the upper and lower grill gunmetal. got rid of the chrome and painted the middle metallic silver. found out it doesnt match the color of my fogs so im going to repaint it a darker silver. used home depot garage sealer on the top to fill in the gap.

I think the design was a great idea, but the fitment looks off with the gaps. That Ron Jon grill definitely needs something though. The rest of your car, especially the wheels is perfect.

Looks even better now painted. I personally don't mind the fogs as they are, but I understand the desire to paint them as well.

And LOL on the rubber garage sealer...that stuff is like duct tape for the automobile...can fix anything...ha

heh thanks

the garage sealer is just a temp until i figure out something better to replace it with. im thinking of just shaving out styrofoam to fill up that gap and just wrap it in cf vinyl.
