MDX 2011 Tech package
Looking to buy my first Acura, looking at 2011 MDX w/ Tech package. MSRP across the board is $47,500 to $46,605 in CT. Now based on my research so far consumer reports mostly invoice price is $43,900. With the current economy, new models already out, what would be a good price. I was thinking $40,500 or less (Invoice price of a base 2011 MDX). Any help or advice would be awesome

Good luck with that....I countered my sales guy who wanted $46995 with a price of $45990 including destination for a 2011 MDX with Tech/Ent and he has officially stopped responding to my emails.
Depending on where you are in CT you may not be able to get the deal you're hoping for due to it being end of the year and the economy. Here in Fairfield county there is literally 12 billion MDXs on the road and no one seems to be hurting from the economy.
I'd guess demand is still high here and there's still no need to sell that low.
Just a guess.....

if you get the car to anything close to invoice ($3-500), you've got a good deal. its an acura not a chrysler product or a chevy where they couldn't give the car away.
good luck and happy hunting.

I do appreciate the help and advice of zeroing in on a more accurate and realistic starting price point. Also Fairfield county (Gold Coast) will probably never have a demand issue with luxury, lol Thanks Again.

I got a price of 43,386 plus tax below invoice and I'll tell you something the market right now is tough, dealers are not willing to work with you.. They could give a rats ass cause hey know these MDXs are in hot demand..
If you got a Costco membership it helps alot, that's the only reason I got it for below invoice..
I have to drive 3 hrs to pick up mine Chicago. Taking delivery on it at the end of his month happy shopping and good luck

looks like you got them down a little more from costco price based on your thread:

The price you are dreaming of is less than cost - holdback. Not going to happen. The MDX is far from a distressed vehicle. If you wait until gas hits $6.50, you might get your price.

yeah you got a great price, but didn't the dealer mess up the first time when you were buying a few weeks ago? they ate the commission probably b/c they know they messed up on the first car that they sold to someone else. so they gave you a deal which worked out well for you.

excellent. good thing you didn't give the first dealer your money (you did get your deposit back right?). when companies do that kind of crap or they just rub me the wrong way...i start personal bans against them.

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the help. Finally got our MDX Tech package for 44K w/ all weather mats, sport running boards discounted price and install. Will have to show you pics. The sports running boards make the car look so sharp.

Extra added bonus
Also got 4 free oil changes from the dealership as well. I understand its to get us down there for mainteance, but what the hell we'll take it. Especially since I have seen on other post that even an oil change can be expensive at some not all Acura dealerships.

With an Edmunds.com invoice of $43628 and a hold back incentive of $860 the dealer didn't make a whole lot on the deal when you throw in mats and running boards. Congrats on the new ride!!
