Leather Protection
Hey guys. I am currently driving a 98 accord, and I am 99% sure I am purchasing a 2007 CPO MDX this Saturday. Question I had was what if any products did you guys use in protecting your leather?
In my current car I used Scotch Guard on the cloth interior after every detail job which was done twice a year, but can't find anything like that for leather. I would like to get some sort of repellant down on it as soon as possible.
I checked the wash and wax section but mostly TL owners over there. Many thanks in advance.

Well, there's Neatsfoot oil, Mink oil ,and liquid saddle soap, and leather lotion for starters. Check out this link. I've used some of these products with good success. But if you have a light color leather, make sure the product will not darken it like a lot of these will. No problems with black of course. Oh, and check out the shoe toe condoms. You don't want to run out of those LOL!

As a former detailer (side-job), the best thing I would tell clients is to garage their car. Keep it out of the elements as much as possible and your leather will last longer.
As for available-to-the-public leather products, get yourself a reliable leather cleaner and conditioner. I'm not familiar with Jaminleather, but I've always recommended Lexol 1015 Leather Conditioner. It can get expensive, but Amazon has it fairly cheap (about 7-9 bucks a bottle). Combine that with the Lexol pH Cleaner. Worth every penny

Oh and Neatsfoot oil (I use Lexol, I'm not a Lexol distributor I promise ) is good for leather that is already dry or cracked. Use it sparingly though, don't over-saturate. So I would use cleaner + conditioner 4-5 times a year, then treat with Neatsfoot as appropriate.
