How much oil does the 2010 MDX take at oil changes?

This maybe a really stupid question, or maybe my search skills suck...

But how much oil do the 2010 MDX's take for an oil change? 6, 7 quarts?

Also where do you guys buy your filters from?

Thanks in advance!

4.5 quarts and Acura/Honda 5W-20 Motor Oil is recommended for the first 30K miles, then Synthetic Oil can be used, per my friend who is currently certified master mechanic at our local Acura dealer. This is his recommendation, not Acura. Acura/Honda's OEM oil filter is also recommended.

4.5 quarts in that 3.5 L engine? That's it...

Interestingly, my TL 3.2 L takes the same 4.5 quarts. I would have thought it would have been slightly more...

I have no idea where your ASE CMT is getting his 30K figure for use of synthetic. It is my understanding that synthetic can be used at the first oil change on all Acuras, except for the RDX which comes factory filled with synthetic. I've used synthetic in all my vehicles at the first oil change since Mobil 1 first came out many years ago and I've had no ill effects. I use Pennzoil now, but that's just my preference. I always use Honda filters (for warranty purposes), but I do not agree with Honda's insistence on having "one size fits all". I understand their scale of economy in using only one filter now, but such a small OEM filter does not hold as much dirt, etc. as a larger filter can over time. With oil change intervals from 7.5K or 12K+ now Honda should go with a larger filter.

I have no problem with synthetic oil and it may provide less friction and therefore may improve gas milage .01% but I have never had any issues with regular oil and have never had any kind of engine failure attributed to "bad oil". Has anyone?
