Getting an MDX

This past weekend,my wife and son and I, went Acura shopping. I had my mind made up that we were getting a TL Type S. I was sick of driving an SUV, we've had one since 2000. She still wanted an SUV but I figured I'd wear her will down and get a sedan. Since the next vehicle we buy is going to be her primary vehicle she said she would rather have an SUV again. I guess I lost that battle. So we drove an RDX and the Type S TL. The RDX was ok but small and had a bit of a stiff ride. It didn't have the Tech package so this RDX was out.

On to the TL. The TL was great but seemed worn out (interior wise) for only having 36k miles on it. She didn't seem as "safe" driving a sedan, even though I told her they are one of the safest sedans on the road. On to the next dealership.
So we come across the beautiful black '07 MDX Tech/sport package with 26k miles. HOLY CRAP IS THIS THING NICE! Great ride, amazing interior and clean as a pin. We were blown away by the features. The only downside is we'd have to shell out some more bills. The other two cars were ok but the MDX is on another level. It seems more like a luxury vehicle than the other two. They were closing the dealership late Saturday and I told them I'd be in touch Monday. They came down to $34,300 they were asking $36995. Not a bad price but I'd like to find one with the Entertainment package and possibly certified (this one wasn't)

One question I had was the interior color options for a black MDX.
1. black
2. silver/grey
3. Tan/parchment
4. A dark brown or a brick red color.

Does this sound right? I couldn't find a color breakdown in the section above. (I could've over looked it)

Thanks and sorry this was such a long read.

Thanks for the pic. I just found one close to me on evil bay. No DVD/ENT Package though, it would be helpful since I have a lil' one. That interior is sweet.

I'm glad that Bordeaux interior is rare. Taste is subjective but that's ugly as sin. Honestly, the black/black combo (which is what I have) works the best on the MDX (but not because I have it. ) Happy bidding yeroc.

bordeaux is ugly.

we have a pearl white on tan 2007 MDX w/tech. I'm not a huge fan of the tan interior as it get sidrty fast, but I LOVE the look of the pearl white. We added running boards and the roof rrails - it looks fantastic.

as to the MDX being nicer inside than the RDX and/or TL. the RDX is small, but nice. the TL Type S is the older body style and yes, the interior in tha car will feel more dated. I looked at a used/Certified TL-S and most of the ones I saw that had that kind of mileage did feel "worn". i dont' iknow if they failed to hold up or if they just wren't well taken care of.

if you really want to drive an Acura that is on a whole different level, in terms of luxury and refinement, drive a CPO RL. compared to our MDX, the RL is anothe rwhole level improved. my MDX is a great car - but the RL is even nicer. you can find wicked deals on used CPO RLs right now.

our 06 CPO RL, with 29k miles, was $26,500. a steal for what you get. the RL is the most underappreciated Acura out there.

but for utility - can't beat the MDX. the MDX handles amazing for an SUV - better than MANY cars! and it's no slug either. get on the gas and the MDX will go darn fast!

I have to say the entertainment package is not a deal maker or breaker. It is a bit old fashioned and my pals can install headrest players and underseat DVD for less and it is high tech and high def to boot! My 2009 STILL uses old style left-right audio and composite video to connect my phone, or any source to the system. Next time I will pass on the tech unless they figure it out by than...

Well it's been a month with our new to us/used '07 Mdx. I ended up getting a certified black on black Sport Navi/RES. So far I love this thing. (when I get to drive it) It's the wifeypoos daily driver so I get it on the weekend. It's got so many freakin' buttons on it I have to sit on my "throne" and go thru the manual.

One question so far. As anyone had trouble linking up the homelink for the garage opener?

Call the 1-800 # for Homelink, they are very helpful and will talk you through it. They admit that some manuals are incorrect.

Same here.

Good luck on the Homelink connection. I've become an unwitting Homelink pro since 4 of the previous cars we've owned had the option.
