From FX to MDX

Hi everyone, just traded in my 2010 Infiniti FX35 for a 2012 MDX base black on black. Loving the extra space but bummed at the lack of USB integration for iPhone/iPod and no keyless entry and push start. Did not want to spend an extra 4k for Nav and ipod integration especially since I lost 12k on my Infiniti
. Any recommendations for iPod USB integration such that the pod is charged and can be controlled from the steering controls.

There's no bluetooth streaming either. So I have to use aux input which is inside the console and charge it with the outlet that's outside. Messy wires and no steering audio controls. I have to find a product that freakin works. Surprised at the lack of mods for the MDX, there were so much more for the FX.

i think you need to really check out the car/manual. i have a base 2010 TSX, thats a $29K car... and i have bluetooth streaming, and USB port inside the center console. i know my 2011 tech MDX has all the bells and whistles too... really retarded if the base 2012 MDX doesn't have stuff my Base 2011 TSX has considering i paid 14K less than you...

I know you own the MDX so you would / should know for sure, but according to the Acura.com website it says the Bluetooth is standard

The UBS / iPod integration is optional -

I'm not very familiar with what you can and can't do on a MDX. I know that a lot of 3G TL owners who want iPod integration use an iSimple or something similar to that product. If its compatible, you could put that in your car?

Does it at least have rain sensing wipers?
I just traded my 2006 Touring for a 2009 Base. I didn't need nav, or entertainment, and it was the color combo I've been waiting for a year to pop up for sale where I live. It was sunny during the test drive, and I really didn't think about it, but I sure do miss rain sensing wipers... I thought they all had the ability to read a usb thumb drive as well. Oh well, at least it reads MP3's. I wish I had just flown out of state, and bought a tech package now.

As the father of a 2yr old I can appreciate your decision on space + 3rows. Plus IMO Acura > Infiniti across the board, so you made another good decision. Your decision to go base, however, was not your best.
I'm afraid you're stuck with the aftermarket for your iPod integration. It's been a while since I researched, but I know there was a kit on eBay that added iPod integration to your head unit, but you had to get in the rear of the unit and plug through your glove box.
Next time, go Tech
$4K is negotiable and the end price is worth every penny

I bought the FX because I loved it, I bought the MDX because I love my kids. After owning it for a month I am happy with my decision and am glad I bought the base. I just burnt all my iPod songs on 6 CDs and loaded them in the CD changer. If I ever decide to get the iPod integration or even add a Magellan navigation head unit that would still be 2.5-3K cheaper than a tech. But does it piss me that my 44K MSRP car doesnt have basic iPod integration, well yes it does but do I regret my decision for buying it, no I dont, it does everything that I bought it for...
Acura definitely needs to catch up with the next generation model. I am travelling on business and renting a camry LE which is half the msrp of my base MDX and it has a 6.1 touchscreen stereo, phonebook, ipod integration and bluetooth streaming. Effing ridiculous.
