Ever Take Your MDX Off Road?

I was considering purchasing an SUV that may need to occasionally drive in off road conditions such as dirt trails and sloping terrains. Nothing major like rock crawling. I am looking at 04 - 06 model years.

Does anybody have any experience to share about taking an MDX off road? I know these weren't designed with off-roading in mind, but the MDX meets so many of my other requirements in a vehicle. Thanks.

Thanks 007, why didn't I think to search youtube?! The vehicle seems pretty capable for my needs. Here's another one I found in case anybody else is interested in this topic:

The first movie showed if both front wheels are not on the ground you are in trouble. The second movie was casual. The third movie is about as much off roading as I would care to do in an MDX epically my own MDX... LOL..

It should be fine in light offroad duty.

I just took a 2012 Acura MDX off-road, and it did pretty well. I wrote it up here:

Let me know if you have questions.

Wow, I guess if we do this, we need to clear the air filter more often.

Did anyone get longer mudflaps or anything like that to prevent from damaging the paint by the wheel wells?

Any other ill effects from going offroad? or is the suspension beefy enough for it.

Thanks,

Dennis (2010 MDX)
