So I recently woke up with my brake lights on over night. Went out to inspect and as I started the car I had multiple warnings and checks pop up dash photo.
I got a warning showing the battery was low so allowed the car to charge. On top of all of the warnings, the speedometer, tachometer, coolant temperature all stopped working. The odometer is also not counting miles. While driving, the backup camera will also randomly turn on.
I was able to fix the brake lights staying on while the car was off by replacing the brake light switch, but all of these other issues have persisted. Have tried disconnecting the battery. Checking fuses would be next, but I feel like 10-15 fuses would have had to blow at the same time for that to be the case. l'm pretty ignorant when it comes to vehicles though.
Has anyone else had this issue, and if so what was the fix? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Check for water leaks in the Front (driver's side under-dash) and Rear (left side of trunk) Relay / Fuse Boxes.
Pretty common in this MDX and causes all the havoc (and more) of what you said.
Check it out very well, with a flashlight, by unplugging some of the main connectors.
Usually, water goes deep into the case and causes burning of contacts, power traces, and damage to boards.
See YouTube for disassembling and repairing them.

I doubt that the scanner will help in this case. Basically it will show that there is no communication with the MICU (Body ECU) front or rear.
But if they are damaged to such an extent that they cannot be repaired, then a Honda HDS dealer scanner is needed to program new modules into the car network.
P.S. Finding and fixing water leaks is another unpredictably difficult task, sometimes endless.

That's right, the scanner will show you which modules are not communicating and from the diagram you can understand which modules communicate on this line and this will help you head to the right place.
