Converting 03 OEM headlights to 04 HID headlights
My wife's 2003 MDX headlights have some scratches on them (which I polish out when it is washed) and she has gotten a little jealous of my 04 TL with HIDs so I am looking to convert hers to the 04 MDX projector headlights with an HID conversion kit.
I know there are people that have already done this on the forum and I was wanting to get together a parts list before I purchase everything. Here is what I have come up with so far:
Feel free to post any suggestions that might help me out. I am looking to do this in the next 2 weeks. I am wanting the color to be similar to my TL's factory color that's why I was choosing the 5000k's.
As for the Xentec's, I have heard both good and bad, so if you have an alternative, I'd like to hear about it.
Any help with this will be appreciated!
Thanks!

2004-2006 headlights
H11 HID kit (5000k)
9006 to H11 converter cables
So my questions are:H11 HID kit (5000k)
9006 to H11 converter cables
- Is my list complete?
- Would you buy Xentec lights?
- Will the lights flicker and/or is a canceller required?
- Should I get the converter cables that are straight (1) or the ones with the relay (2)?
(1)
(2)

XENTEC for the price aren't terrible, I have had a set on my MDX for around 3 years and the only issues I have had is
A. If I leave the headlights on when I initially turn the car on sometimes only 1 side will light (my other vehicle had a canceler/resistor and it never had the issues)
B. I got bored with colors so switched bulbs around a few times.
Honestly IMO at the price even if you purchase 2 sets you can still come out allot cheaper than other kits have 2 back up ballasts and 2 back up bulbs.

I believe you should be just fine with adapter # 1.
Here's a link to a competitors site with a guy that sells HID Kits that are AC based ballast, it's been documented that the AC form factor avoids lots of the flickering issues.

Thanks to everyone that helped thus far!
By the looks of the extension cable that came with the HID kit, it looks like I will be able to convert without the need of the cable listed as (1).
Just need to order the headlights now.

What kind of cash, approx, are you going to have wrapped up in this project. Do the projector/hid headlamps bolt right up to the 1st gen headlights? I think I would like to do this for my wife's 01 X.
Lemme know please.
