In January 2009 jono_80 asked the silly question "where's the compass?"
I'm glad he did, now I don't feel so silly not seeing it either. The owner's manual shows the compass display with the calendar day and the time. It goes on to explain how to calibrate the compass. Someone responded to jono's post in 09 that the compass is in the nav screen. I don't see it there either.

I just bought this and am still learning.
Maybe my display settings have to be changed, I don't know. Can anyone guide me a little here?

it is on the navi screen. it's a little red arrow thing that looks like a compass arrow in one of the corners. depending on how you have the navi set up (map is always pointing north OR map route follows the direction YOU go).

Thanks for the response. That may be the only answer, but it looks like there should be another answer. On page 273 of the manual (a link was posted earlier) the compass it shows in the picture doesn't look anything like what I see in the nav screen.

the compass mentioned on page 273 of the 09 OM is for CANADIAN models only. if you have an MDX from the states or live in the states....no compass only the little arrow thingy in the navi.

a lot of americans are directionally challenged anyway. lol.

I wonder why they decided the Canadians need the compass but we "Americans" don't. It seems like the compass technology is so old it would have cost next to nothing to put it in. Hmm. Oh well, I've got the Nav screen to help. I do like having a compass, though.
