Check Trailer Stability Assist Warning - MDX 2008

I have a 2008 - Acura MDX and from last couple of months "Check Trailer Stability Assist" warning comes on intermittently. I don't have any trailer hitch and brake lights works just fine.

Any suggestions on my problem and where I should start??? Let me know if i can solve this on my own before taking it to the dealer or service shop...

Thanks in advance..

I also have a 2008 MDX that recently started exhibiting this behavior. I searched around a bit a couple months ago and believe it has something to do with one or more faulty vehicle speed sensors. Could be mistaken. I'll look into it more and post back if I find anything.

Found this thread on MDXers.org. Sounds like one or both of the rear speed sensors is the culprit. Since I won't be taking my MDX to the dealer to determine which one, I'll be replacing both. After all, if one is bad, then the other is likely close behind.

Check Trailer Stability Assist Warning

I have found out that this is a known issue with these models (and few more) and Acura actually released a TSB (Technical service Bulletin)11-014 and did not do a recall for this problem...

The problem is with the brake light switch and is easy to fix and in my case the problem has gone away with the cold weather and everything works fine for now, but I will replace it this summer (TSB attached document also includes how to do it)...

I am enclosing the pdf for your reference, hopefully this will help to address your issues too..

The problem is with the brake light switch
Some MDX owners have replaced the brake light switch and the issue persisted, so don't rule out the wheels sensors as the culprit.
