Marketing term.
AWP and AWP II are used ro describe "new style" tires
by both Mich and Uniroyal.
The DWS tires are said to AWP II style and more flatt to road.
They just roll on.

Thanks for the clarification. Here I was thinking the 2012 color was different.
Aspen white pearl vs Aspen white pearl II.... gee they should have just left it the way it was.

There is a difference in the mixture of the paint as Acura has different color codes for the colors.

Aspen White Pearl is NH-677P color code
Aspen White Pearl II is NH-814P color code

My guess is that they changed the base coat slightly and then the clear coat slightly as well for a different shade of white, or to simply achieve the same effect but from a different supplier that needed a different combo of base and tinted clear coat.

It's pretty much the same color but made by a different mixture and probably a different supplier. I think many companies made slight changes to the color codes due to earthquake in Japan last year. Some of the materials were just not available, therefore a change was necessary.

Correct. This is true for both Aspen White Pearl and Basque Red/Dark Cherry on various models.

It is due to a specific pigment no longer available. So the colors were reformulated, look identical in person, but because a part of the composition/pigment is chemically different they are not the same and their own new codes.

Parked side by side, you'd never know, aside from your window sticker saying II on a newer build.
