Any Solutions (Protective Guards) for the Trunk Area?

My father in law was lifting a heavy luggage set into my 2010 MDX and he dinged the area where the trunk/cargo is located. The material is plastic and the paint just flew off. My WeatherTech cargo liner cannot extend beyond the edge of the trunk/cargo area so the luggage took a chunk of silver paint off my precious !!!

My RX350 has protective guard located exactly around this area for such possible mishaps. So is such a solution available for the MDX???

Thank you all for your help and insight.

Its an OEM item, just look up a sponsor form this site. I don't want to step on any toes by suggesting a place to buy it. They also have it at the dealership.

Thanks for your help Texas911. I just saw it as an accessory on the Acura website.
That is a great solution. I will head down to my dealership to purchase one and solve any future issues with luggage.

Cheers

My wife did the same thing to our 2004 MDX. So when we got the 2010, I had the installer put the 3m clear bra film on the rear hatch area also. Just another option for everyone....

It was removed from the message for whatever reason. It's basically a mat that covers the rear cargo area and has a flap about a foot long that hinges at the back edge of the cargo opening. It lays down over the rear painted area, above the "bumper." I've seen them advertised on E-___. Probably cheapest prices.
