Aftermarket radio 2009 MDX
Hello!
I’ve been searching around the forums and pretty sure there is an answer but can’t find it so if anyone can link it that would be awesome!
but basically I am thinking about purchasing a 2009 MDX. This does not come with Navi and has a regular radio. *Check pic*
I know there is a dash kit for me install where the radio buttons are (red box) which is cool but I was trying to shoot for the OEM look.
and install an aftermarket screen(just want apple carplay, back up cam) (blue box)
Are there any solutions for this?
i just found out that the air vents up top (blue box) are attached to clock screen so it’s not like I can pop it out and detach the vents.
another option i found was just putting a 12 inch screen in front of that and run cables to the aux. which is cool too ig
Any ideas?

It's better to get an MDX with a factory navigation unit. Then, there are few options available to convert factory screen / control knob or install infront new touchscreen system to get wireless CarPlay / Android Auto. They come with ready-made wiring harnesses so everything can be set up in a plug-and-play manner, and maintain the original appearance of the dashboard.
The one you showed, there are too many changes that need to be made to this car, including replacing the screen panel with vents, replacing the center stereo unit and cutting/splicing a lot of wires in place.

I went with an ipad mini held by a CD slot tablet mount.
This would give you apple carplay.
