Acura mdx-2004- 205,000 miles help ?
I am new to the forum and my mech experience is at best I can put air in tires. Had the MDX since 2004, overall a good car. My issue, is i need brakes and someone is telling me I
need the 90 k service which runs about $ 2500. I had the
service done at 99k back in 2008. Any help is appreciated, I need to keep the car running and figure investing a couple of thousd is alot keeper than buying new. Anything else I should be aware on with this much mileage- as in- major expense going to show up to my door.
Thanks in advance in a big way for any help.

It's not the 90K service but the 105K (timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment, spark plugs, etc.) that you likely need again plus some other general maintenance items. $2500 sounds pretty steep unless there is a lot of stuff included. Can you provide a detailed list of what's included at that price?
Here's a list of what I had done on my 2004 a couple of years ago and the total cost:
Replaced timing belt, water pump, coolant, drive belts and the timing belt tension adjuster - $767
Replaced oil/filter, cabin air filter, air filter, rear wiper and oil drain plug. Drained/filled transmission fluid and VTM-4 fluid, rotated tires and replaced rear brake pads - $498
I haven't had the valves adjusted or spark plugs replaced yet but that would probably run $400-$500 I would think.
Add that all up and it's close to $1800.
This was all done at an independent Honda/Acura shop so it was probably 20-25% less than if an Acura dealer did the work. I guess if your quote is from a dealer it might be about right depending on what all is included.
