2013 MDX vs 2014 RX quick comparo

A couple of days ago I picked up a 2014 RX w/prefered and comfort package for my wife and here are my comparison to my 2013 MDX w/tech. Both are the last models of their generation and cost similarly so they are in equal footing.

Ride fun factor: MDX wins by a lot
Exterior looks: MDX wins
Interior fit and finish: RX wins by a lot
Technology: The RX also takes this one. In addition to blind spot indicator, it has keyless entry, folding mirrors, better GPS, Pandora integration a spectacular backup camera at night (mine is almost unusable at night), heat seaters that heat instantly, and better on board computer.
Fuel consumption: so far seems like a tie.
Customer service: another win for the RX. I am comparing Bay Ridge Lexus and Ray Catena in Oakhurst NJ vs Acura of Brooklyn NY and Acura of Springfield NJ. I have only good things to say about Both Lexus dealers and poor experiences with both Acura ones...

If I had to change my MDX in a couple of years, I would give a serious look at the newer RX. I did not like many things about the 2014 MDX.

The latest generation MDX would be the 3rd generation MDX and it would be a 2014, not a 2nd Gen 2013. That said, I agree that Springfield Acura of NJ sucks. Either way, you have two very nice cars.

Edit - I just read that you said latest model of "their" generation. So forget what I said about the 2014 MDX.

Agreed. Both are great cars.
I forgot to mention that the RX also has daylight LEDs, park assist and ventilated seats.
On the fuel consumption subject, in strictly city traffic the RX is doing around 12 mpg. That's 1-2 miles worst than the MDX.

Hmm surprised that the RX does poorly in mpgs.IIRC, the RX declared mpgs are better than the 2G MDX.

On dealership customer experience, I think Lexus has the edge over Acura generally. Speaking from my Lexus convertible ownership experience vs having owned 2 Acuras.

NT, good news! Acura of Springfield is redeeming itself. I need an oil change/service done on my MDX as well as repair a chronic problem with the rear defroster. They came to my office, picked up my car and drop a loaner. The next day they drove back with my car serviced and the defroster fixed! Cuddles to them.
Talking about the loaner, I got an RDX. It was great! It felt so nimble and quick. Also, it has a better on board computer than the MDX and keyless entry. It is puzzling how the higher end 2013 MDX tech is behind in some aspects to the RDX.
