I finally bought a 2012 MDX w/ Tech (for wife) for $39,120.00 Palladium w/ Taupe. They included some service & the cargo liner. Has anyone bought the Acura Care extended warranty?
#45
These prices are insane. I bought the 2011 Base in September of 2010 and the best I could do was $39,500 with the all weather mats. That was a very aggressive price at the time compared to what others were paying.

Hi wangjt, would you please share the dealer info to me? my email is norn2k AT yahoo.com. thanks!
If anyone is interested,
I was offered 39,500 on a 2012 MDX with Tech
36,000 on a 2012 MDX Base.
These are both prices WITHOUT the 1000 Loyalty/Conquest reward. I think most people are posting prices WITH the loyalty/conquest reward factored in... so in that case.. the price would be
38,500
35,000
This is in the Bay Area, CA
If anyone is interested, I have the dealer's contact. PM me. I told him a few of my "friends" are interested and he has told me he is able to guarantee this price until the end of this month. He told me he's not sure about next month, but he suspects there to be less in stock (and thus higher prices)

I ran the numbers compared to picking it up in 2-3 years with more miles on it and the price was about the same for the balance of the acura care that I would purchase. It doesn't really do anything until the 4yr/50k warranty is up, but they'll prorate refunds (if you sell or trade) from the day you purchase the contract.

Trying to pull the trigger on a 2012 MDX - Tech, was offered 41,921 from two dealers around the LI area after 1000 loyalty cash. Is this a good deal or I should try find better?

travel to DC (it's 4 hrs and over $2k in savings....might be worth it). i know dealers that are selling MDX with tech for 39XXX. there are better deals to be had. several folks here have purchased for 39XXX in FL and the DC area. i think there was someone also in cali bay area that was in the same price neighborhood as well.

^ Thanks, I know I read those getting for 39xxx and change, in other areas, might be hard to get those numbers around NY metro.. I will look into your suggestion.. didn't even think of that

I used carwoo.com and got a great price ($39500 + ttl) from a dealer (not the world's largest, but located pretty close) in DC - a great experience.
I strongly recommend carwoo.com - it's free if you have finalized a single make/model.

Keeping emos out of
Does anyone in the Colorado area have any experience with aggressive pricing recently? I'm looking to get a 12 with Tech and most of the prices that I'm seeing are 41 and above with a couple thousand miles. If i could get one for $39k or lower I'd buy this week.

The wife and I went in to our Acura dealer here in Plano, TX looking for a CPO Black/Black MDX Tech. The only one they had available was a 2011 MDX Tech with RES and 12k miles on it, but we couldn't justify paying extra for the RES which we wouldn't use since we don't have kids. Their price for that was $40,500. After a while of checking around their inventory and no luck with the Black/Black combination, we told them we were walking to check out the other Acura dealers in the area. So they brought out their "loaner" 2012 Black/Black MDX Tech with 5k miles on it. I saw the price tag showed $41k on it before they took it off and they sold it to us for $38K - All-Weather Mats, Wheel-Locks were included.
So in the end, we got the vehicle that we truly wanted with less miles and cheaper price... I guess the moral of this story is to let the dealer know you're willing to check out other places and this was at the end of the month as well, so they were rather desperate...

Has anyone buy from another state, just wondering of the process and hassle for it. Here in LI, NY most dealers are around 42K for tech, If I get a good deal from nearby state then I will consider it..

-depending on where you buy from (in my area) you will end up with temp tags to get you home.
-depending on the dealer...you may or may not have to register your car with the local DMV in order to get your hard tags.
-if you are transferring tags from a trade in then it's a bit easier (since at that point it's all paperwork without waiting for hard tags).
-if you have any other misc city or county stickers, you are responsible to registering your car.
i have purchased a car from my neighboring state (people here do this all the time), and it really wasn't that big of a hassle. IIRC i had temp tags from MD, they registered the car so i could get hard tags. i actually just transferred my tags from my old car and voila. done. we have city/county stickers here so i had to do that too, but that's pretty easy. if you plan to vneture out of state for a vehicle purchase just ask the dealer. it's pretty painless...well as painless as can be when it comes to DMV.

^Thanks, great info.. I had some basic idea. but getting getting it from others really confirms it.. I'm currently working w/ a dealer from MD, they can get me ~2k less than my NY dealers.. may finalize soon, once I get everything figured out.

Yep, TLtrigirl got it exactly right. I'm from PA and I recently bought an MDX+tech from a dealer in VA. Did not trade in, so the dealer did the VA paperwork, filled in and had me sign a PA title request form, had me pay PA taxes and I drove off with the vehicle bearing temp VA plates.
I'm now waiting for the DMV to email me PA stickers and plates.

Depends where you're located, but that's about $2k too high. A bunch of us have gotten $8500-9500 off sticker. Try the MD/VA dealers to get the best possible price to compare to where you're located. Just might be worth the drive or shipping.

it's pretty painless with the paperwork. it'll all be ready before you even get there. so all you have to do is sign your life away and get the keys. oh and before you leave....check to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect (paint, wheels, interior...everything). not saying there will be a problem, but you never know. i just detailed a friend's brand new RX hybrid recently. the dealer left the adhesive from the plastic that covered the roof. a whole strip of it. oh the customer won't look up there! they also got lazy a left the adhesive and paper tape behind the rear tag area. not a big deal, but you pay a butt load of money for a new car, you'd expect it to be properly prepped off the truck!
what color did you end up getting? have a safe trip to pick up the new ride.

^ Great thanks for the heads-up , will inquire about wheel locks and mats. You're right I have to make a through inspection since I won't be local. The color combo I decided on was Grigio / ebony (I wanted WDP / ebony like my TL but not offered). Acutally I don't know if its my luck but only one was left in this and then another customer wanted the same that was in the store. Anyways since I spoke to my saleman earlier the couldn't sell it, so it's mine.
Most likely I will leave on 8/30 to pickup, with an early flight out of JFK..will confirm this later..

^^nice color combo
all my car purchases from them included the wheel locks and mats. just take a peek in the car when you get there. if the mats are there- check. and then look to see if the wheel locks are on the car. the lugs they pulled off will be with the original pkg the locks came in and inside the car (glove box or the map pocket on the door).
good luck...welcome to the 3G TL/2G MDX family since you're driving back up to NY...bring your EZ pass with you so you dont' have to stop for tolls.

^ Yes I will get the wheel locks, mats, nitro fill and a full tank to drive back, may be some more freebies when I get there. Just to clarify the mats are the weather mats or the fabric type mats? Also, trying to see if I can get a deal on the advance running boards and roof rails (not install), oh didn't know that I can use my e-z pass since there will be no plates, thats great news.. I save lots of time

carpet mats.
the ez pass....in NY i know they scan and cross reference the plate to the EZ pass (it tells you to call ez pass). i only know this b/c when we drove up to NY we were using our ez pass...and flashed call them. we called. the tags on the MDX were not listed on the ez pass (didn't even know we had to do this until this). so we went ahead and told ez pass VA to add the tag number. if you get a tix from NY...just tell them what you did or register the VA temp tag with them. a quick phone call is all it takes. you won't get a tix anyway. we never got one.
as far as running boards and roof rails....you're outta luck on that one. they are already giving you a great deal on the car...they probably won't deal on the accessories. i tried for a hitch...they told me the price (MSRP) with install...i laughed and said never mind. i even had the acuraoemparts discount price...nope. no price match.
best bet ...buy it from an internet dealer (curry-through acktl05, or tim -both are vendors here) and install yourself.
of course....it never hurts to ask. your primary issue is that you're coming from out of state. so they know you won't be getting your car serviced there.

I recently wants to join the MDX family, and has just been to this forum.
Look like guys here are getting crazy prices, in my area northwest Indiana the dealer all quotes me around 41k(with tec). Which I thought was good before I get here..
Anyone could suggest me a good dealer around this area? Either Chicago or Indianapolis would be fine.
Thanks guys!

Got a new MDX last night. $39,750 before destination and TTL, and they threw in the all weather mats. I didn't negotiate hard and could probably knock off another $750 if I really pushed it. But the sales rep was super nice, and I thought this was a fair price for both parties. After stupid Chicago 10% tax and fees, it was $44,500ish
Thanks!

Try using Carwoo.com for your area... it's free to use for 1 vehicle (meaning you need to be specific about the trim level you want). You can negotiate anonymously until you reach a deal you'd be willing to take. Not all dealers participate, but I've gotten great offers through that service (and some really bad ones too).

Counter the 41k offers and give it a few days. They'll deal over the next 7 days.
