Forgive me if this was discussed before (I have searched and searched the forum but could not find the definitive answer).

I have seen confirmations that the 2010-2012 Advanced Running Boards will fit a 2009 MDX. My question is whether the 2010-2012 Sport Running Boards will fit a 2009 MDX. The reason I wish to install the 2010-2012 is that some of the posters here said that they are a bit wider than the 2009 Sport Running Boards.

I have small kids who would benefit from the wider Advanced Running Boards but I like the look of the Sport ones better. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you mean. Sport 2010 vs Sport 2009 or Advanced vs Sport?

Found the answer myself from Curry Acura and posting here in case anyone else is wondering:

The Advanced Boards will fit the older MDX model but the Sport kit will NOT fit. The Sport Kit has Splash Guard End caps that do no fit the older MDX body shape correctly.

Other than the end caps, the sport boards are the same but they changed the MDX body shape just a little so they had the make a new sport Board kit with the new shape end cap/splash guards.
