2008 Dash Electronic buzz
Our 2008 MDX has an odd buzz in the dash. It's actually closer to under the steering wheel than anything else. It's not a loose part and sounds more like a servo moving or clicking. It is not constant and it happens w/o any real reason. I have heard it with and w/o the a/c. Seems to happen more when in drive, but when you park and stop for a while it will still do it. It is not constant and hope to take it to my local shop so they can hear it when it is happening. Any ideas on what this could be. The cars does not run bad or anything and this is not hear a vent. I'm at a loss... Oh great MDXer's... please let me know your thoughts...

Hey OK, I just noticed my 2008 w/ 64,000 miles, start doing this as well. It sounds like it coming from steering column and is sporadic.
Did you find out what is causing this and a fix?
Thanks!
JR

my 09 (51k mi) has a "chirping" coming from the dash on the driver's side (from what i can tell). it's there constantly, with and without the AC on, car parked/idling/driving and with/without the stereo on. the sound does not change with ANY of these. it sounds like a cricket. there is no such noise coming from the outside of the car ONLY the cabin.
it is rather annoying. i will be pointing this out to my dealer the next time i go in for service, which will be soon. for now, i will listen to jimminie chirp every time i drive the car.

Hello all... I did find out what this is. It is the blend or airmix motor that is used in the climate control. I have not replaced it as when I brought it in it worked fine. He did tell me that they have one on both sides of the dash (driver and passenger) for the dual zone. It is around $300 fix at a local acura place, but not the dealer.
I did find out that you can see the motor making this noise when it happens. You need to look up under the dash on the driver side and you can see a servo/motor arm twitching back and forth. Basically place your head on the floor mat and look up toward the right side (toward passenger) and you should be able to see it.
