2007 MDX Bluetooth Question/Problem
I recently bought a 2007 MDX. According to the list of phone compatibilities, my Samsung Galaxy S7 will not work via Bluetooth with it. Is there any way to purchase an upgrade for the HFL? I've always thought Bluetooth is Bluetooth, but I can't get the phone to pair. Has anyone had any luck getting a phone not on the list to work with this model? The HFL was totally unplugged when we looked at it. We plugged it back up, but now I am wondering if was unplugged because it is bad and that's why the phone won't pair?
Any help/answers will be greatly appreciated!

likely it's bad and you'll need a replacement. I'd unplug it again, the HFL has a bad history of failing and then draining the car battery so that may be why it was unplugged to begin with. There's many posts regarding failed HFL here on this site.

If its D/C is probably because it was bad and they leave it unplugged!
An easy test is to plug it and see if it works! When you push the Bluetooth button on the steering wheel a nice lady will chime in and tell you the Menu.. If you don´t hear ANYTHING at all the HFL Unit is bad and you should Unplug it because it will drain your battery.
If the unit is bad there is an Updated fixed unit but it will cost you +200 bucks New... The Bluetooth system in the MDX only works for CALLING so don't expect to stream your music through it even when it works.

I just bought a 2007 mdx and I brought home today and I was just trying to play with the settings and connect my bluetooth and I had the lady chime in and talk but my Bluetooth was still not working. when I went on the site it said the iphone x was not a compatible phone. Is my phone to new for the bluetooth software? Is that something I need to go to acura about? also does the mdx bluetooth play music or is it just for phone calls? I traded in my audi for the mdx so this is all new to me.

oh, okay thanks. if its just used to make phone calls and not play music I am not too worried about figuring out my Bluetooth. I thought it did both, my old car was Bluetooth and it played music, read my texts and made phone calls so I figured Bluetooth was Bluetooth lol

My Bluetooth died yesterday in my 2009. I have a Galaxy S7, and it did work for the past 4 months. Acura has a seperate part number for 2007-2009, and 2010-2013 models. Has anyone tried the updated part in the 07-09 MDX? I wonder if it will work? And maybe provide BT Audio streaming as well? Plug looks to be the same.

I bit the bullet and bought one for a 2010-2013. It plugs up, but sadly does not work with my 2009. I thought it would at least do phone calls and hands free commands.
