2007 MDX Battery Drain Resolved By Replacement of HandsFreeLink Unit
My 2007 Acura MDX had a slow drain on the battery. If you didn't drive the car for 3-4 days it wouldn't start. The battery was installed by John Eagle Acura in Houston so I returned there. They said the HandsFreeLink (HFL) unit had malfunctioned and was not turning off, leaving a slow drain on the battery. The options they gave were disconnect the HFL unit ($230) or replace it ($650). The parts department wanted $260 for the part alone. I'm not good at math but that seems like $390 in labor to me.
Armed with information from AcuraZine and other sites I ordered the replacement part 39770-STX-A01 from Acura of Tempe (480-344-5800) for $195 plus $6 shipping. I bought this trim removal kit for $14 and, although untrained and inexperienced in auto repair I managed to replace the unit in about 20 minutes. Thanks AcuraZine. Another price gouge averted. Hope this helps others with the same problem.

Burning Brakes
Awesome to here! Just happened to drain my wife's battery tonight. Was doing something that required the X to be on, but not running and all of a sudden I heard a warning that the battery is low.
Luckily, I'm home and now recharging it
