2004 MDX transmission fluid

Hey everyone! I’m new here. About 3 months ago, I bought an ‘04 MDX for my fiancé. About a month and a half after getting it, the transmission started slipping really bad. It’s currently off the road. But I will be buying the parts to rebuild the transmission and in that process I’ve found that I need DW-1 transmission fluid for it. Do I need to go with Honda specific or can I use another brand (like Aisin, which is a third the price)? Thanks for the help in advance!

Aisin or Idemtisu is fine if you don't want Honda/ Acura fluid but i would put nothing else.

I've had no issues, so far, running Aisin DW-1 in my auto CL-S' rebuilt transmission thus far (11K+ total miles with A-DW-1).
In addition, if possible, when you rebuild the transmission, document your findings here to breath a little life back in to this forum?:) :tumbleweed:

I will do my best. I plan to take plenty of pictures while I do it. Still slowly buying parts. Being the sole income in my household makes these things kinda slow 😂
