2004 mdx pcm?

Hi all,

My engine light came on last week, so I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong. They cleared the code, drove it around for awhile and declared it a glitch or something. No charge. So light comes back on a few days later. I take it back to dealer, and now they tell me the power control module needs to be replaced, $1155. I told them to hold off and so now I'm waiting for an estimate from another mechanic. I wanted to double check with you guys and see if the PCM could really be the problem. I have about 79,000 miles on it. I've had no other issues with the car other than the engine light. Should I trust the guys at the dealer?

When the Check Engine Light comes on there is a code that the system stores to help troubleshoot the issue. Go to autozone or a parts place and they will usually check the code for you for free! Right it down and post it here!

Good choice on wanting a second opinion!

Always get a second opinion, get the code read and it could be something much smaller..hopefully.
