'12 MDX- B123 Maint already?

B123 Maintenance has appeared at just over 25k miles. That seems early to me, but OK I guess.

B1- Oil, Filter, Tire rotate, basic inspect, etc...
2- Cabin Air Filter, simple enough
3- Transmission Fluid & Transfer case

For you DIYers, did you just do the 3x3 drain/fill with the Honda ATF? Any write-ups here on this? I'm sure I can figure it out, but if one of you fine folks already have, well that's even better.

For both Acuras we have owned and for the Lexus, I tend to do a series of tranny drain refills over a 20k miles period ( say 3 oil changes ) so that over time, the tranny fluid is pretty much refreshed. I have never done a 3x3. So I tend to start early even before the MID tells me and when the MID calls for a tranny fluid change, I have either done it already or am halfway through.

A little surprised that you have a tranny fluid replacement call on the MID at 25K miles though. Our 2010 has 37k miles and we have not yet been asked to replace tranny fluid. With your experience, I might start our first drain refill at the next oil change.

I would do it.

Its easier then an oil change no need to even lift the car.
Drain plug is right there and fill on top.

I would change it every 20-25k miles no matter what the MID says.

Let me know if you need help.

My B123 just came up at 25.5 K on my '11 MDX Advance.
I will do my own air filter and forego the cabin filter.
Changing fluids is too messy for me.
CF at 25 K is not an issue to me - but might DIY if dirty.
Independent shop (Christian Brothers) will do all else for $270
w Acura Fluids in trans and transfer.
