I apologize if this question has been asked before, I couldn't find it when searching the forums. My 06 MDX (87k miles) won't start in park, but will start in Neutral. New battery and starter so that's eliminated. I read it maybe a neutral safety switch, is there anything else I should be looking for? Thanks in advance for your time..

The shifter is not electronic like the 3rd gen.. You have a Mechanical issue if you start in neutral while the shifter is in Park. If the shifter is in D but feels like Neutral then its another issue.

^^ i think he saying the he can only start when he moves the shifter to Neutral.

Can you check if any other functions like door locking/unlocking etc work when you move the shifter to & From Park?

It should be the alignment of the NS switch, it is possible it has moved over time a bit. This is common alignment problem with older GM's.

I would assume the range switch is at fault.

The shift interlock recall I believe.
