05 Acura mdx handsfreelink wont pair. Registering in drive while parked.
I just purchased a 2005 Acura mdx touring. I have been trying to connect my phone to the handsfreelink with no success. Once getting to the phone setup options I say pair and the vehicle responds that the car must be in park. I have tried pairing with the car fully on and in accessory mode. I have tried putting the e brake on. I've done a system clear. I've done a hard reset of the navigation system (although I dont think they have anything to do with the other, but why not). I have accessed the module and unplugged it for 30 seconds and reconnected. The system itself responds and my phone pairs fine with other vehicles so I dont believe the issue is with my phone. My car is registering that it is in park otherwise it probably wouldn't start. It just seems to be something with the hfl. I have searched online, tried calling customer support, read the owners manual. I have found nothing about this particular issue. Even customer support has never heard of this problem occurring. Has anyone ever experienced this? Or possibly have some insight on a fix? Or some sort of knowledge on the mechanics of the system (how it reads when the car is in park or moving)?
